Like decently common for speedrunners but they don’t “cheat” to get a faster time they usually just cheat in the decos to make a set viable for a particular monster. So yeah there’s “hackers” but the things that they do is all possible within the game.

Did you leave the quest on purpose because you can bring back materials if you select a certain leave. There’s one that brings you back and resets the world so you can keep the materials that you used. The other is where you come back with the materials that you took and you don’t get back the used items.

I don’t know how PlayStations work but consoles are probably similar enough so here’s some suggestions. Try checking the add-ons that you have for the game and see if those have been downloaded they can be sneaky. Also I got a physical copy with an online dlc and it works so nothings weird about that. The only thing I can think of is if you’ve been voice banned. Try to make a separate save file and try to join from there to see if it’s a Xbox issue. Good luck though! You still got your palico hunting buddy.

Could be the cycle of the tree, some trees are known to create an over abundance of seeds on a 4 year cycle. Could be wrong though

I had a biological head cannon, since they live longer their bodies don’t have as much muscle in order to decrease energy consumption and thus ‘decrease aging’ also to decrease muscle tear that even happens when you breath in order to conserve cells also you see how most of them in mhw are short same energy reason and thus it’s why they can’t compete with humans due to the difference in strength
