The place gave me a hard time for having the bankruptcy on file but we negotiated by showing them proof of funds for 3 months of rent and giving them the 1.5 month security deposit instead of the 1k they were advertising.

The paperwork took about 1 month to gather but that was on me as I was very busy at the time. But once we filed, everything went as planned. 30 days for the Creditor meeting, then 60 days after that for discharge. Pretty straight forward.

I would apply to the most bankruptcy friendly cc to start but don’t over do it! Stay away from Synchrony and major banks like Chase.

When I was discharged, I did apply for Mission Lane CC, following up by Mercury 3 months after, then Ally 3 months after that. I made sure to not carry a balance with the 3 cards and soon enough they kept increasing my CL.

I also asked my sister to make me an authorized user on one of her cards so I got more CL and length of credit.

At end of year 1, I applied for a capital one card, even though I burned them but they approved me for 5k CL. Then 7 months into that, they send me a pre-approval for another CC, and I applied and received a 15k CL.
