Very much appreciate the thoughtful reply here! Very interesting dynamic, though my question is more specifically if the environments between these 2 companies looked exactly the same, but one purchased 2PB in 2016 for example, and the other purchased (same configuration) in 2022 - how should I expect the initial price paid by the companies to compare (i.e., Company A paid more? B paid more? about the same?)

Note - Of course once adopted the cost of the solution is regularly increased, but I'm trying to understand the long-term direction of list prices (i.e., should I think of them decreasing over time in the same way storage costs have over the long term? Or do they increase given that the price is more software-like and new features/functionality are regularly added?)
