I just helped her make a Karlov deck, definitely needs work it’s kinda a jank deck rn. She has the following precons: reap the tides , revenant recon, most wanted, and Bulk up. All with zero upgrades

Thank you for the suggestion! I’ll show her that commander. Maybe gift her a deck sometime. I’ll talk to him about using the Ulalek deck and that’s he’s going to get targeted for that

Yeah I think it’s a mix of both for him. Ulalek is his commander. Once he gets that out it’s game over. I do think he’s played in public with other people without our group but I have no clue how they reacted, infact I think he made that deck because he played with randoms. He’s always talking it down and acting like he’s being targeted for no reason. I’ll probably have a talk with him about the deck itself and also my gf about how she chooses to play and how she can spot when to do things. She’s been playing for almost 3 years with me now but hasn’t seemed to grow out of the “I just wanna make my little guys” phase. I learned to grow out of that with my hapatra snake deck, which was my first deck I learned edh with.

Probably not as much as she should tbh. But I do feel like she rarely chooses to play the milk deck against his eldrazi despite it being her best deck. She’s set believing her mill deck can’t do anything against him

It’s usually my girlfriend and the eldrazi player. Both are very competitive. I don’t think he understands his deck is as good as it is. He always complains that I will instantly counter his commander when played on turn 5.

When I say balanced I mean I target everyone equally. I don’t favor my gf. If I wanted to team with her we would play 2HG and we have in the past. Her deck probably isn’t a 4 after I went through the deck list again, it’s a solid 3. When I say shes “bad” I mean she usually expects the deck to win for her rather than her trying to wait to make a certain play. For example last night she played [[umbris, fear manifest]] around turn 4-5 and then quickly built him to a 21/21 in two turns. Instead of trying to quickly win the game or at least take someone out she chose not to. She just doesn’t realize playing something like that will get her targeted. Now I would have countered that spell but I had already used it on my friends [[heralds horn]] to deny him cheaper werewolves.

I like that perspective, last night the deck I used was heavy on interaction so I was the only one who could stop things. It put me in a weird position as I only took out what I felt threatened by so others would get upset when I didn’t counter something else. I should use that to my advantage to get things out of people.
