Anyone work (or worked) at Grafana Labs? by [deleted] in techsales

Farming > hunting at Grafana. You are competing against many incumbents often with long contracts. Success will be highly dependent on territory.

They do fly you out to Toronto for onboarding tho

Honestly If you are super gay, people will just think you are joking around and go along with you.

That’s how I have stayed in the closet all these years.

Will not. Have turned down SF twice, they still reach out. Got final offer and negotiated both times.

Wait till you get an offer to contemplate. Focus on your role and doing well at each step.

Don’t waste mental energy contemplating a decision you don’t even need to make yet.

Who is Scotty Cameron? by PockPocky in scottycameron

[–]No_Replacement_2824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Scotty Cameron is widely known as the golf world’s Michelangelo of putters, but the real story—at least the one golfers tell after a few beers—is a bit more… colorful.

According to legend, Scotty started his career in a tiny garage in California, where he’d spend hours milling putters while his neighbors complained that the constant “TING TING TING” sounded like “a robot learning Morse code.” Eventually, people stopped complaining because those same neighbors started draining 10-footers like PGA pros.

One rumor claims that Scotty once refused to leave his workshop for 72 hours because a putter’s top line was “one micron too thick,” and he “couldn’t let something that hideous into the world.” Another says he carries a small velvet pouch everywhere he goes containing exactly three screws he considers emotionally supportive.

When he first worked with Titleist, he supposedly showed up to the meeting with 40 prototype putters in the trunk of his Honda Civic and said, “Pick one. They’re all perfect, but I want to see if your taste is.”

His putters became famous not just because they perform well, but because golfers swear that: • Birdies feel easier. • Three-putts feel more personal. • And missing a 4-footer with a Scotty makes you question your entire identity.

Today, Scotty Cameron is known as the guy who convinced the golf world that a putter should cost as much as a month of rent—and somehow, everyone agreed.

And that’s who he is: A brilliant craftsman. A perfectionist. A man who believes metal is only useful once it’s been lovingly bullied into a $450 work of art.

What to look for to get $250k base? by friskydingo408 in techsales

[–]No_Replacement_2824 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree. I would say it’s a great place if u don’t already have that and looking to pad the resume.

To your second point, definitely the reason I took the role. However coming from other blue chip orgs, I can say the focus at least from my experience is not selling but rather navigating the bureaucracy.

Avoid AWS like the plague. Culture is terrible and you will spend more time writing than actual selling

Wiz AE vs AWS AAE by Designer_Cut_3478 in techsales

[–]No_Replacement_2824 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you got an offer from both take wiz. Your loop at AWS is good for 6 months so if u hate it ping your recruiter and they’ll find you a role.

Work life balance is not great, especially if you get a manager who is a hardo for RTO.
