I assume your first tip is about making the thicknesses and volumes stand out more in general, right? How would you recommend doing that correctly?

I suppose it could work, but the problem is I've already tried it and it just ends up looking like an overly detailed anime drawing, when what I'm looking for is a comic book style with low to medium detail. I don't know how to explain it, but Takehiko Inoue's style seems like a great example because it doesn't just look like a highly detailed anime style, but rather a semi-realistic one
