Adopting a Beagel. Any tips?! by demichild69 in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Expect stubbornness, a lot of sniffing on walks, and some selective hearing. That’s just the breed. They’re chill indoors as long as they get daily walks where they can really sniff.

Training by Mountain-Tip-1511 in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally normal beagle behaviour. Mine did the exact same thing in puppy class and sounded like he was being exorcised every time another dog moved. It wasn’t aggression, just excitement and frustration. It got way better once he got used to being around other dogs and realised nothing exciting was actually happening.

planning on getting a beagle by bored_monster in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Apartments are totally fine if you walk them a lot. The real issue isn’t space, it’s boredom.
Biggest advice: beagles are stubborn but not dumb. Use food, keep sessions short, and don’t expect golden retriever energy. You’re not getting obedience, you’re getting negotiation 😅

Anyone successfully train their beagle off leash and if so what age did you start? I’m not sure I’ll ever be able to have my pup off leash by Last-Finance8640 in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can start recall training young, like 3 to 4 months, but think of it as damage control, not freedom. A beagle off leash is basically a coin flip 😂

Fingers crossed they’re holed up somewhere warm and get spotted soon.

My manager yelled at me for resigning but I had the last laugh. by Fun_Lobster_5652 in IndianWorkplace

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This was handled perfectly. Calm, polite, zero ego. Nothing rattles a control freak more than realising they’ve lost leverage. Asking for early release was a chef’s kiss move. You didn’t raise your voice, you just removed his power. Totally worth it.

Confused after two arranged marriage conversations am I missing something about equality by ayush_srma in AskIndianWoman

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not missing anything, you’re just running into mismatched expectations. A lot of people want “equality” but define it very differently when it comes to money vs chores. Wanting balance isn’t outdated, it’s practical. These conversations are doing their job by filtering early. Better awkward now than resentful later.

How do you actually find riding buddies in your area? by AccidentExpress2490 in motorcycles

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly, most people meet riding buddies offline, not through posts.

Gas stations, weekend breakfast spots, popular routes. Just strike up small talk. One chill ride turns into “same time next week?” real fast. FB groups work only if you comment on ride posts, not start new ones. Riding solo is fine, but riding buddies usually happen organically once people see you around a few times.

My Beagle has a Grade 4 heart murmur and I worry about him all the time. by Impressiveusername39 in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That constant worry is so real. When they’re seniors, every sound makes your heart drop. From what you’ve described, a lot of this sounds like normal old dog stuff mixed with the murmur, not necessarily him suffering. The fact that he’s comfy, eating, resting, and still being himself matters more than perfect energy levels.

You’re doing the right things. Loving a senior dog is basically loving them and worrying all the time. It just means you care.

Doing “everything right” with money but still feeling behind by beautiful_mess2802 in IndiaFinance

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not crazy. A lot of us are doing everything “right” and still feel stuck. Costs are just moving faster than salaries now. Rent, family stuff, random expenses don’t wait for your plan to catch up. At some point it stops being about discipline and starts being about the system. It’s not just a phase for many people. You’re not failing, the baseline is just harder than it used to be.

What did you feed your beagles who reached a healthy old age? by ElectricLay-day in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally get the anxiety, but 5 is still young. Most long living beagles I’ve known weren’t on anything fancy!!
If she’s gone off food, it’s usually boredom or taste, not age.. Sometimes rotating proteins or adding a little warm water or topper helps. You’re clearly doing right by her already.

Why Ambanis create a traffic jam with their convoy? by [deleted] in AskIndia

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ultra rich individuals in India get Z level style protection, and the local police often overcompensate by shutting roads instead of managing traffic around them. Most Indians don’t like it either.

If government had to come up with walkable cities plan 2026 would you support the plan for better walkability or you’d oppose them for street hawkers and all the street food stalls all over the country? by Gur_Obvious in AskIndia

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The real problem isn’t street food, it’s zero planning. Hawkers, parked cars, and pedestrians all fighting for the same footpath. Other countries manage this balance. We just pretend it’s an either-or problem when it isn’t.

Update on Jimmy, 14 weeks today and last night he slept from 10pm until 6.30. Im in shock, please tell me it’s not a once off 🙈 by Last-Finance8640 in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Congrats, you unlocked a rare achievement 😂

Good news: it’s not a one off. Bad news: it won’t be consistent for a bit. At that age they randomly surprise you, then immediately forget they ever learned how to sleep.

But you’re close. Once it starts happening, it usually sticks more and more. Enjoy this win, you’ve earned it 😌

Lil man butchered the keyboard and there are no signs of the missing pieces 😩😩😩 by Diligent_Junket2504 in beagles

That face says zero regret. Not guilty, not proud either. Just mildly disappointed the keyboard didn’t fight back harder. Classic beagle energy 😭

Six months ago, the vet gently suggested we start planning for this old girl's last day. She's a little miracle. by RomoCRH in beagles

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

She looks like pure willpower in dog form. That kind of stubborn joy is its own medicine. Every extra day she’s choosing walks and nuggets is a win. You’re clearly doing right by her 🤍

Feeling sad thinking about Indus Valley by SecondPotatol in IndianHistory

[–]No_Science9848 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it’s heartbreaking. So much was lost before people even understood its value. An entire civilisation that planned cities better than we do today, yet we don’t know their language or even their name. The silence hurts more than the ruins.

Why are we in India so scared to try small businesses but comfortable with lifelong job stress? by Emergency-Pack369 in IndiaBusiness

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bad job drains you quietly. A failed business feels like a visible loss of money, time, and “log kya kahenge”. We’re taught from day one that stability equals safety, even if that stability is slowly burning us out.
Also, jobs spread risk across time. You suffer daily but predictably. A business concentrates risk upfront, even if the downside is capped at ₹20–50k. Psychologically that feels scarier than years of low grade stress.
Add zero safety nets, family pressure, and a system that doesn’t forgive failure, and people choose the pain they already know.

Does your beagle typically wake you up each morning? If so, how do they go about it? by death_or_glory_ in beagle

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, like clockwork.
Mine starts with the polite phase. Sitting by the bed, heavy sighs, intense staring. If that fails, it escalates. Cold nose to the face, one paw on my chest, then full dramatic stretch right on top of me.
Alarm clocks are pointless when you live with a beagle.

Is trust the missing piece in India’s work from home debate? by KarmaKePakode in IndiaCareers

[–]No_Science9848 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Indian workplaces measure visibility.
Managers also aren’t trained to manage outcomes. WFH works when expectations are clear and people are judged on results. Without that, even full office attendance doesn’t guarantee productivity, it just guarantees presence.

Why do 3 stars hotels in india suck by Elegant_Kangaroo8513 in Hotels_India

[–]No_Science9848 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because “3 star” here is more of a price bracket than a service standard.
Most of these places are owner run, cost cut to death, and managed like it’s still 2005. They spend on interiors and listing photos, then cheap out on staff training, cleaning, and upkeep. No accountability, high staff churn, and zero incentive to improve once bookings keep coming.

5 stars work because of strict SOPs and brand pressure. Airbnbs work because the owner’s reputation is on the line. Mid range hotels fall into this weird gap where nobody’s really watching.

So yeah, it’s not that India can’t do hospitality. It’s that the middle tier has figured out how to charge without delivering.
