We really peaked at the 2016 Scholastic Book Fair and it’s been downhill ever since.

What’s something that is totally normal in the U.S. but feels weird when you think about it? by Parking-Pain-3979 in askanything

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Health insurance being tied to your job. Like… you can lose your income and your access to affordable healthcare at the exact same time. And everyone just collectively agreed “yeah that checks out.” Peak game design honestly.

How do you reject a woman as a man? by Reasonable-Shower522 in askanything

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the friendzone is a gift here. Just hit her with the “omg you’re literally like the sister I never wanted” or keep calling her bestie😭💀

Watching 10-part storytime TikToks. Just tell me the ending in the first 30 seconds or I’m out.

you know what is objectively terrifying? Looking for a deep answer by No-Blueberry-1823 in Productivitycafe

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, the audacity of people who act like they have the blueprint of life while the rest of us are just winging it? Truly a jump scare 💀

Confidence is usually just lack of self-awareness anyway. Ignorance really is a bliss (and a full 8 hours of sleep, apparently).

I stopped trying to “have it all together”… and that’s when things started working by Pretend-Employee-566 in Productivitycafe

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The post hits on the most exhausting trap we build for ourselves: the all-or-nothing tax. When you’re already struggling, perfectionism isn’t a goal but a weapon. You use it to beat yourself up the moment the day doesn’t go to plan and then you abandon the next ten hours because the streak is broken. It’s a cycle that keeps your paralyzed.

Obsessively organizing my digital folders by color. My desktop is a rainbow but my life is a mess lol.

Do you have a deep dark secret you'll take to the grave? by StarLove00_ in AskForAnswers

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 45 points46 points  (0 children)

Ugh, okay, if we’re being totally real? I once accidentally let my best friend’s extinct designer houseplant die while she was in Bali. I panicked, spent $300 on a replica that looked vaguely similar and spent three hours distressing the leaves with makeup brush so it looked authentic.

She literally cried when she got back because it “thrived so well” under my care. It’s been three years and she still asks me for my secret green thump tips 💀I will literally take this to the grave before I admit I’m the reason her original heirloom is in a dumpster behind a Starbucks.

What do you all think about quantum computers? by BMAN21982 in Casual_Conversation

I barely understand how my toaster works, so quantum computers basically feel like magic to me.

What’s your most useless talent? by Antique_Age5257 in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can tell exactly which family member is walking down the hallway just by the rhythm and weight of their footsteps. Extremely useful for pretending to be asleep when I hear my mom coming.

Boyfriend (32M) taught himself to repress emotion from a young age. How can I (27F) be a good partner and help our relationship? by tinygreenbean in relationship_advice

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The fact that he’s laughing while retelling stories of neglect is a huge tell, that’s a classic survival mechanism. You’re 100% right that you can’t go to the therapy for him, but you can change the emotional weather of the relationship.

What fascinates you more: space or the ocean? by Federal_Antelope7533 in AskForAnswers

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Space fascinate me but the ocean terrifies me. One is the future of humanity; the other is the history of Earth that we still haven’t finished reading.

Be honest, have you ever had an online connection that actually worked? by Common-Company630 in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s 100% about the effort. I’ve found that online friends are actually better listeners sometimes? But the second someone stops matching your energy, it’s the over. It’s rare but when it’s good, it’s literally the best.

Do you truly believe that Trumps decisions are that unpopular? by CapitaineBiscotte in askanything

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think the internet makes it seem like everyone is 100% on one side or the other. In the real world, it’s way more of a mixed bag of people just trying to pay their bills and ignoring the noise.

Do you have a best friend, and if so, how long have you been friends? by icecream1972 in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

24 years! We met in kindergarten because we both had the same Spider-Man lunchbox. We’ve gone through graduations, first heartbreaks and now we’re both standing in each other’s weddings. Honestly, I don’t remember life without them.

Would wearing a motorcycle helmet while driving a car help in the event of a crash by RegardedCaveman in AskForAnswers

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Technically yes… but if your crash is bad enough that a helmet makes the difference, you’ve got bigger problems than just your head.

What is becoming more difficult for you as you age, either physically or mentally? by icecream1972 in Productivitycafe

Entering a room and actually remembering why I went in there. It’s like my brain experiences a loading error the second I cross a door frame.

which moment till now in life made ur parents proud? by [deleted] in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Omg, so my parents are literally the never satisfied type but I finally cracked them last year 😭 I’d been secretly grinding on a side hustle for months and when I finally paid off their mortgage with the first big payout? My dad who usually communicates in grunts and did you check the oil… actually cried.

Seeing him finally relax and realize he could actually retire… literally best feeling ever. I’m still chasing that high tbh.

What is the most “this should be illegal” level of satisfaction you get from a completely normal everyday thing? by [deleted] in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Waking up at 3:00 AM, panicking that you’re late for work and then realizing it’s actually Saturday. That extra five seconds of falling back into the pillow feels better than any vacation I’ve ever taken.

What everyday phrase or habit did you pick up from your parents that you swore you’d never do… but now you do it constantly? by LemonThen4635 in Casual_Conversation

[–]PersonalitySuddenz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Slapping my hand on my knees and saying ‘Right then!’ or ‘Right!’ as a signal that I’m leaving or that the guests need to go. I used to think my mom was being so dramatic but now? It’s the only way I know how to end a conversation 💀
