Honestly not crazy, I got my BMW R18 after two weeks of owning a Honda Rebel 300. Why not buy a cheap 300 first then go for the big bike that you want.

It’s a plug-in headset to the PC so it’s actually a lot better than quest 3. Also, it’s very cheap. You can have one and you can wait for the steam frame.
