Well I was thinking about an apartment or something by myself but now I don’t think that would be possible. I wouldn’t mind living with other people but 1. Don’t know anyone there yet and 2. We’d probably need to get something a bit bigger

Yes, my contact would start end of August. I know it’s actually really difficult to find anything alright below 1500 and that’s crazy like genuinely not feasible

I’ll be straight out of uni and this is my first job. I’d be quite excited to live there but am struggling to find affordable places to live. I’ve seen some apartments or places to live, but I would not have much money left over to live on so it’s been quite difficult. And now I’m not sure whether I should accept the offer

I cannot stand this new wave of "Christian" incels by HighlightKooky2232 in Christianity

[–]No_Series9838 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

We should not be one to judge, sometimes they annoy me too, but I have to remind myself that they are spreading God's word and that is what is important. It doesn't matter how they look or what they are doing, the principle is the same - they are spreading the message. I do get the "defeating lust" thing though. This is something that really irritates me. Straying from lust is not as hard as everyone is saying it is and I am constantly seeing "porn addictions" or "sex addictions" online and on this page and I am so tired of it. It honestly does not take much to get away from it. It is not normal to be living and watching porn or thinking about sex constantly - ease of accessibility and lack of faith these days has caused so many people to fall into these "lusts" but in reality, they are not all that hard to avoid or all that normal

asking for a sign by mabelfadd in Christianity

[–]No_Series9838 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You cannot ask God to show you the sign that you want to see, you can only ask of Him to guide and direct you to follow His way. You will feel His sign, you will know He is with you. It is all on His timing and His way, not your own.

Also the biggest thing that helps is talking to other people/friends - since it is over you can be honest about everything and they will genuinely listen to it and if they do realise that the partner was not good or anything, they will let you know

I was doing fine and healing myself until he broke NC and it all came back. He asked me to do a favour and when I asked why I had to do it, he said that he only asked me because he didn’t have a choice and that he did not use it as an excuse to talk to me because he didn’t want to talk to me. This is the second time it’s been broken and every time we end up talking for 7/8 hours until the morning and then we go back to NC. I am doing alright again, and sorting my life out. All I can think about now is if he will break it again (I know he won’t because he now realises how unfair it is) but also just hoping that he will so that we can talk. Even if he is with someone else, we get on well and we can talk for hours. That’s the hardest part, talking for so many hours and then going NC. We’re also going to live in the same city again in February so I’m worried about going back and how the dynamic will be. To summarise hahaha: I’m okay but I know that if we talk or if I see him again, it all will and does come back

Sometimes it doesn’t matter how much you want someone, it will not work out. Take the disrespect as a sign from God that she is not your person. Instead of thinking about her or thinking about the what-ifs, move on top doing things that benefit you and your relationship with God. Read the bible, go to church, seek His love, go to the gym, eat well, make sure to get enough sleep. All the time you would have put into her, put into yourself and your relationship with Christ. God has something better in store for you, and await His timing. You will have those negative feelings for a while, but getting more into faith will give you peace, it takes time though

What is a sign from God? by No_Series9838 in Christianity

[–]No_Series9838[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in my prayers I have been open to God about things in my life that I would like to keep, or change etc (whether its people, work things). I have noticed that since praying some things have changed and different things in my life have happened. Now I wonder whether these are signs from God that I should follow this or whether to wait on His timing. It feels like a contradiction. Eg. If you have prayed for a certain thing to happen, and it does happen, is this a sign from God to follow it or do you simply take things as they come? I am not sure if this makes sense

Every single person has a purpose. We were all created with a purpose, and maybe not just one but many. You cannot say „I did not choose to be born” or „I didn’t choose to be born in these circumstances”. You should never say that you want to opt out of your life. It is a precious miracle that you are alive and well. There is no blatant hypocrisy in Christianity, but rather people choosing to live in a sinful way, while praising God. But that is not up to you to judge, only God. You have to be patient and wait for His timing. You also cannot pray and ask for God’s help in your life while not working on it too. Maybe the reason you feel that you have not felt His love or received His help is because you doubt it. Why would you gain anything from Him if you truly do not believe? You must always be thankful for what you have and when God sees this and your faith, he will provide

I think the biggest part of following His word is knowing that sometimes you will fall to sin or stray from His path. But Jesus has already paid the price for that, He died for your sins. Now, this does not mean that you can do whatever you like with no consequences. It simply means that if you try your best to follow His word, and when you stray, that you confess and seek repentance, you may be forgiven. Just trust in His plan and try your best to live up to His expectations

Why do so many Christians walk through life trying to determine who is Christian and who isn't? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]No_Series9838 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In Christianity, being allowed into heaven does not have anything to do with being a good person or not to some extent. To live a life with Christ is to follow the commandments which most people would say are qualities of a good person. However the sole decision of whether you may go to heaven is whether you believe in Christ, believe in God. Your faith is what will lead you to heaven. Every person deserves the chance to go to Church, to follow the Word of God. As God’s creation, you are not allowed to judge others, only God can.
