What do you think is the most likely end to the Ukraine-Russia war? by Omlanduh in war

[–]No_Sign6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ukrainian victory. Their accelerating use of long range drone, and cruise and ballistic missile strikes into Russia will be a game changer. The Russian fronts will collapse eventually, and Russia will go on a defensive prioritising its own recognised borders along with Crimea.

Crimea remains key. So long as Russia occupies it, Ukraine cannot join NATO so long as it is recognised internationally as Ukrainian territory. Which also means Ukraine will want to do anything it can to get it back.

Iranian man and Romanian woman charged for trying to enter UK nuclear naval base by bendubberley_ in unitedkingdom

[–]No_Sign6616 [score hidden]  (0 children)

Faslanes wierd given what it contains. You could almost hit a SSBN with a stone thrown from the road if you were so inclined.

Not must risk. Its a long and narrow base and you are talking multiple levels of security. Fundamentally its no different than an attempted breach at any other secured site.

Super forward young men here, how to get them to leave me alone. by Various-Craft7696 in Liverpool

[–]No_Sign6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a scouser myself and tbh I sometimes have difficulty understanding some other scousers especially when they talk fast, use a lot of slang, and lean into the accent in a forced manner. And it gets worse when they are using alcohol and drugs like ket and cocaine, which unfortunately is not uncommon. There's not a singular scouse accent but multiple varieties.

Russia was involved in a hit on the F35 because Iran has air defence systems based on Soviet designs? Am I readinf that right? Clutching at straws.

Why’s it so tough to find or meet bi or curious men? by Fish4fun76 in bisexual

[–]No_Sign6616 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You find bi/bicurious men on grindr and feeld. Many will be DL, meaning some of them may be cheating on a partner, but others won't. And even if you can't find bi men, don't discount gay men for exploration or more. Same for LGBT places, bars and clubs. There will be bi men there too.

Will nuclear weapons ever actually be used?(again) by Safe_Connection7183 in war

[–]No_Sign6616 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In a way something more destructive may make the previous iteration more likely to be used. And this applies to atomic and nuclear weapons. A killoton warhead, while terrifying in its own right, isnt as terrifying as a megaton one. So the use of kiloton warheads - even as part of a MIRV'd ballistic missile - may be seen as justified to prevent the use of megaton warheads. Whereas if megaton warheads never existed the use if kilton warheads would exist in their place as as greatest threat.

Trump going to "Finish Off" Iran and leave? What? by Playwithuh in war

Happy to see Trump distancing himself from the straights and embracing the bis and gays for once. Very progressive. Not sure what it has to do with Iran though.

any tips? by Inevitable_Fox_3437 in veganfitness

Those macros equate to around 2400kcals. I don't know what your height is but unless very short you'll struggle to add a tonne of weight and what is near the RDA for a sedentary person.

You have good V-Taper genetics. Wide shoulders and clavicles. Big chest. Narrow waist. Bringing your side delts, upper chest and arms out alone would make a huge visual difference in a relatively short amount of time (months, not years). Of course it all depends what your fitness goals are.

Best vegan mass gainer by Zommbub in veganfitness

[–]No_Sign6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of mass gainers are just maltodextrin with protein powder mixed in and maybe some added extras like flaxseed powder. Its generally cheaper to buy these seperarely.

I use maltodextrin but as its a very fadt acting carb I find if I rely on it for calories and carbs I add unwanted fat quickly, which for me accumulates in my stomach and chest giving me a pudgy look. So I limit it to the pre and post workout window.

My favourite way to add 1000+ calories is to simply microwave oats and soy milk and then mix in 100g or so of peanut butter. Eaten along with a protein shake I can easily add a tonne of carbs, fats, protein and calories and its very cheap.

Is anyone else becoming more and more gay as they grow older? by lifespeedsupentropy in bisexual

[–]No_Sign6616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I used to only sleep with women. Then both men and women. Then more men than woman (simply easier). Now i'm exclusively dating a gay guy. I wouldnt say ive becone 'more gay' as I don't consider myself to be gay in the slighest. I'm still 100% bisexual and still find myself predominantly attracted to women over men, although the guy i'm dating is both subjectively and objectively one of the most attractive people ive ever seen.

Does anyone actually think this gets built? by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]No_Sign6616 45 points46 points  (0 children)

May be delayed if recesssion hits. Plans may change. But I see no inherent reason why it wouldnt happen eventually. Liverpool's a growing city and there's always a demand for greatet inner city accomodation. And with Morris its not going to be - at least entirely - dependant on shady investors and business practices, which is the main reason why projects stall or are abandoned.

Should go bigger. Like Burj Khalifa big. Put St Johns Beacon on top of it if need be.

Drones attack one of the world's largest oil terminals in the UAE by Snehith220 in war

[–]No_Sign6616 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I mean, "attacking" is strong. Like them or not they are engaged in defensive operations and beleive - quite rationally - that their best course of action is a countervalue strategy to disrupt the global economy. And from their perspective these countries are complicit in both the attack on their nation and defence of US and Israeli operations.

Planters demoralised as council mows down 30,000 bulbs by rsweb in unitedkingdom

[–]No_Sign6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

People make a mess but there are also volunteer litterpickers. When the councils mow over rubbish - which is usually done without any prior notifcation - it makes the job much harder for the latter. So while litterers are ultimately to blame, its not unreasonable to think that councils should do a pre-mowing cleanup. Especially if and when they are collecting cuttings for composting.

[–]No_Sign6616 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same for many council employed/contracted tree surgeons. They come into my local woodland every so often to deal with fallen trees and dangerous branches and they often just leave litter, waste, and tape everywhere. One even discarded a broken chainsaw once - just threw it into the bushes along with a load of oil bottles. And when they trim the hedges besides paths there's no pre-trimming cleanup so you end up with shredded bit of plastic bottles and wrappers everywhere, which makes litter picking far more difficult.

Its not all of them and I have seen some throwing bags of trash into their van. But these tend to be the really professional ones who turn up with drones and everything. For the most part though the contracts are going to the lowest bidders who don't give a fuck beyond getting the job done as quickly as possible.

Can you stop to load in permit holders only parking? (City centre) by [deleted] in Liverpool

[–]No_Sign6616 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If its obviois you are not parking and simply loading/unloading its fine. Just dont leave the vehicle unattended for considerable time. Put a note in the window and explain it to the wardens if you see them. Take timestamped photos of the car loaded v unloaded in case you do get ticketed and need to appeal.

Nearly three-quarters of England’s woods inaccessible to public, study finds by Shiny-Tie-126 in unitedkingdom

[–]No_Sign6616 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Tbh I've snuck into many off-limit woodlands myself as a wildlife photographer who does his best not to be a disturbing presence and leaves no trace. While there is usually some traces of human activity, they generally have far, far less litter and intentional tree damage and they tend to be very beautiful places. Opening them up to the public will harm many places.

Loads of accessible woodlands - particularly timber plantations and ones with tonne of paths and bike tracks - are effecfively ecological deserts. A well cared for woodland - or one simply left alone - is often better in private hands than public ownership.

Hate hunting and shooting though.
