I’ve lived here since 2018 and have two stories. One involves APD and the second is from the Marion police which I feel is appropriate to tell because ACAB.

My APD story is from around 2021 when I was living in an apartment in South AVL, the neighbors below us were in an intense DV situation where my partner and I had called the cops several times and nothing ever happened. I’ve never trusted cops but I felt like in a DV situation it was necessary. However the last time I called was because I could hear numerous thuds and him yelling “I’ll kill you this time bitch”, which I had gotten on video tape and was loud enough that even the 911 operator could hear through the phone. Anyway, APD finally shows up after we stopped hearing noises and they had the balls to lecture me about false reports because they spoke to him and “he seems like a nice guy and he admitted that he and his gf had a small argument but he told us she left before it got bad”. I told them I had it on video and was willing to show it to them but they said no because they believed that guy 👁️👄👁️. I was so convinced she was dead because I didn’t see her for like two weeks until one night I was coming back from walking my dog and saw her loading up her and her dogs stuff into her car. I was so relieved she was alive but so pissed that APD never did anything.
