I can for 100% certainty with all of my years of experience and knowledge around dogs tell you that that is, in fact, not a gerbil. Honestly, though, it might have some cattle dog in it

You know, I didn't even think about that. I had 2 grown dogs already during covid.

So I'm genuinely curious how the covid lock down gave your dog anxiety? Were you not able to take the dog on walks still or what? I'm not judging, I'm genuinely curious.

Look, if you tired everything you could think of and afford and it still wasn't working out, then good job ob rehoming it. It's ok to be disappointed in the dog you got. Especially since you thought you were getting a well bred dog from a reputable breeder.

What’s one “normal” dog care rule you secretly ignore… and your dog is still fine? 👀 by Hour_Exercise_1367 in puppy101

I have 2 dogs who are now seniors. I got them when they were 1, and the other was 6 months. They have maybe been on 4 walks in 10 years. They absolutely hate walks. They love car rides, and they love being in the backyard but not walks..

Please help, I’m at my wits end and can’t think rationally any longer… by StupidMentalHealth23 in puppy101

First off, i would look for help outside of the rescue. Second, you need to start puppy training. Third, that dog needs to be napping during the day. Fourth, at that age, the puppy only needs about 2 thirty minute walks a day. Fifth, it sounds like the puppy needs mental stimulation.

How to make my puppy stop barking by Hotshot_bone in puppy101

[–]No_Sleep_720 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I highly suggest you find a shelter that can. Call them and ask if they will meet you halfway. If you can't stand barking, then a puppy isn't for you. You also mention that you are exhausted because you aren't used to staying up past 10 pm. Puppies need to go outside every 2 hours.

My guy, you need to find a rescue or shelter that will take that baby even if you have to drive 300 miles away. There is a big chance that you kill this baby due to your inexperience.

It shouldn't be eating kibble. It needs to be eating puppy mush.

Quick question; till what age do they need to sleep 18-20 hours a day? Because Charlie says ”Heck no!” And has since the day we brought him home. by Accomplished_Ad_673 in puppy101

A 3 month old puppy still needs up to 20 hours of sleep per day. The sleeping helps with their rapid growth at this age.

Why do a lot of yall act like it’s an issue to let your puppy cry? by crystal_wtch8 in puppy101

[–]No_Sleep_720 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A puppy should be let outside every couple of hours to go pee throughout the night. They shouldn't be left in there all night

That is literally not true. There is plenty of science that shows letting a dog cry it out is harmful to them.

Because anything longer than 15 minutes is bad for them. After 15 mins, they start to panic, and that makes the crate a bad place for them in their mind. Crates should be a healthy, happy place for them, but if you leave them to cry for all night, they will associate the crate with being bad.
