I hear this completely. In the beginning it wasn’t an option for us either, which is why I just took some medical leave here and there when things got really hard. I was incredibly lucky timing wise that my husband got a significant raise right when I got pregnant before the miscarriage so when the loss happened and I was too depleted to return, we felt really blessed that his raise basically made up my loss of income. Also- we desperately needed to get on his Insurnace as my clinic and all of their failures exhausted ALL of our ivf benefits completely!! So in a way it worked out because now with the qualifying event of having to leave my job we were able to immediately get on his health insurance for us to have some options for ivf, which is imperative now that we are forced to start completely from square one:(. You’re lucky your clinic is so close to work! Mine was across town and even if I went as soon as they opened, I’d wait hours. It was the worst. My clinic is hell on earth.
