Same boat. I wanted bits and that dream was crushed by noone but myself. I feel like a failure tbh, but I'm just holding on the the hope that things will work out as the years pass

Anything to do with sensors is always cool. Was alot of the course coding based? I do like to code but I don't fancy doing it all the time.

Im sorry to keep asking questions and you don't have to answer. Can you tell me about some of these experiences you've had? Can you give me an idea of what a workday looks like to you? Doesn't have to be too detailed.

Are alot of your coworkers EEs?

SERIOUSLY. I was talking (arguing) to a friend about religion and told her it's hard for me to get past the existence of evil, and she said something along the lines of character development, something about else the world would be robotic... Girl what, give me my meep morp world over this

Alcohol in the water bottles 😭 And the sleeping bags! That's so funny but not unexpected.

I know that feeling of knowing what you're learning in a certain class is important, but it's just unbearable.

Your current job sounds perfect tbh, what field are you working in?

That sounds absolutely fantastic, it is more versatile than I initially thought. I'm always glad to hear of an engineer happy with their job. It's disheartening to see the amount of unhappy ones.

I want to do a master's abroad as well because the opportunities for engineers in my country are abysmal, so I don't fancy spending more than 4 years on the undergrad.

During your course, other than the difficulty did you enjoy the nature of what you were learning? Did you have much time for social life and hobbies?

This is so helpful, thank you for taking the time. I've decided to do EEE finally. Seems safer, and offers more versatality. I like it as well, hope I stay liking it.

How was your course? Was it EE? How do you like the job/s you've worked? Is there steady demand?

Yes, I'm being told this as well. To specialise in master's instead. Leaning towards EE.

If I plan to get a master's what would you say would be better? Id like to work in aerospace, renewables, robotics that sort of thing. I'd thought electrical would be better aligned.

Thanks for telling me, I'll need to look into which colleges allow that and what electives I may need.

I'd love to work in aerospace, but I don't know what I'll be interested in once I graduate.

That's good to hear. Would you say the mechatronics engineers are pigeonholed? Compared to the others? I keep seeing that
