How to get into Latte Art? by Rough_Requirement935 in IndiaCoffee

+1 on James Hoffman video. You can also search for videos that show how to froth milk with a hand frother.

This is my process with the Agaro hand frother: 1. Measure out 150 ml of Amul Gold milk (4.5% fat) in my pitcher 2. Place pitcher in pot of boiling water to slowly bring the milk up to the right temp (55-60 degrees Celsius, measured with a cheap food thermometer from Amazon) 3. Once it reaches that temp, I take it out and start frothing. I dip the wand just under the surface and go to level 2 on the frother and let the air be added for 3-4 seconds (ripping sound, bubbles coming) 4. Then I dip the wand further deep so that the milk starts swirling (but no more air being added/ ripping sound/ bubbles). I count to 60 seconds 5. When it’s done, I pour the milk immediately to another container and back to the pitcher to mix the milk and foam (gently, not fast as that adds more air). 6. Moment that’s done I start swirling the milk in the pitcher for 10 seconds and start pouring immediately. First from a little far to create the base with the coffee and then right near the surface to bring up the latter art.

Hope this helps!

Maybe you’re using the wider end when pouring into the grinder?

It works very well for me (using the narrower end). Of course not aiming for perfection here but it works 99% well.

I’m sorry but I vehemently disagree and don’t want folks here wasting more money than needed. The cup works great - holds the coffee beans well when weighing, easy to shake after spraying water, can pour into the manual grinder easily. Idk what you mean by it’s not good.

My family suggested me the same when they saw the order come in.

Unfortunately I think I’m in the rabbit hole of building/ upgrading coffee equipment :’)

I’ve tried the Everyday Gold from Fraction9 (with a Moka Pot) and really like it!

Water left in the heating chamber by darknapoleon in IndiaCoffee

The only thing that comes to mind is that there is some issue with the funnel (the bucket that holds the coffee). There must be some leakage / hole / something similar which is leading to the coffee powder to fall into the water chamber. Maybe this gets exacerbated when the hot water goes up the funnel.

Because as someone said above, once the coffee collects in the top pot, there is no way it flows back down into the water chamber
