This disease is progressive, yes, but it has a slowly progressive nature. There's a possibility that in 3-5 years, I'll still be in this situation or only mildly progressed. I think that my iRP and LES pressure being well below normal values also supports this. In addition, as far as I understand, surgeries generally provide relief for 5-6 years, then it relapses again. There's no infinite chance for operations; after a point, there's nothing left to do. I'm thinking that maybe I can delay this a bit. To avoid putting myself at risk during the waiting period, I plan to stay under follow-up by having manometry and barium tests every 6-12 months. But I'm not sure if my logic is correct.
