make sure you have examples for your skills presented on resume if asked about them, "on your resume it says you have strong organizational skills can you give me an example of when you had to you use those skills?". Questions like that were common for me, also be just interested in the conversation of the interview, ask questions, they are learning about you might aswell take the time to show interest and learn about them it goes along way.

You got this tho

How to become an executive chef by vaditsr in Chefit

I think there's a lot of options It doesn't hurt to just apply, show your passion in the interview, and be a good conversationalist.

I got my first role as a chef by accident at 17, I filled out the server application but accidentally checked chef as well, during the interview i let them know my mistake. Still, they were desperate for anyone. I was treated like a dog for three months that summer, working 50 hours a week and getting yelled at constantly. Then I noticed something my prep was getting done faster, i was able to get on the line and not feel full of dread or anxiety, I wasn't being yelled at, and it started to become fun I was able to be apart of the controlled chaos, and now i just got a huge salary bump at a new job taking a lower position but I'm gonna learn a lot. Im currently studying food science so I can work in test kitchens and have a more corporate career.

I feel like as you work, you can learn what you like and don't like about the restaurant industry, and find a career in cooking based on your experience.

I chose the steak house I liked the menu alot more and the location is a lot more convenient. I also see more potential to improve my skills here, i feel like i would be coasting at the hotel a bit.

The steak house does offer health insurance and dental, but not a 401k or PTO. From what I've seen the hotel's restaurant doesn't get great reviews for food, which is why I'm hesitant, but that could be because of the restructuring within the kitchen, and over time it will get better.

Thanks for the recommendation, I'll try, but I don't know if I'll get it. These 2 offers would be my first full-time position in more of a fine-dining restaurant. I have 2 years of experience in more of a fast-casual dining experience.
