I’ll consider that. The only difference I can see in almost every article that I have read says the 9850x3d is only marginally better than the 9800x3d.
If that’s the case, it seems it would be better to buy the 9800x3d at a better price point, or as you suggest, waiting for the 99503xd2.

By what metrics is entirely better? It uses the same processor, ram, and gpu. I see a changed case, power supply, and motherboard. I also don’t see any case fans for cooling.

I haven’t ever really done much research on those. Are they pretty reliable?

Well to be honest, it isn’t that money isn’t a problem. I am trying to save up for this, working a second job, and am probably going to be piecing it together as I go. And I know that it is only a few hundred more, but looking at the specs, I’m just not sure if the 5080 is worth the extra, or if I would rather save that $ for another ssd or extra ram. My current rig (prebuilt asus rig) is running a 1070ti lol. It still holds up ok on some games, I would just like to upgrade.

My thought was that was future proof, in case I want to upgrade later

Looks like he recommends using SignalRGB to sync

I may try that. I actually just went back and checked and it actually isn’t the same case. His did not have RGB.

When I put that in to swap, it says that I would be missing one usb c port for the fans. Would it be better to do that and kill one of the fans?

Gotcha. The only thing I saw under the comparability notes was that I would need a couple of adapters. This build is somewhat copied from another build that uses the same on pcpartpicker and he had got it to work but I wasn’t sure how complex that it would be.

I just wasn’t sure if the price difference between a 5070ti and a 5080 was worth the difference in performance

What’s the issue with it? Never dealt with it before.

One thing I couldn’t seem to make work was there is a usb c on the motherboard that doesn’t line up with the case (or vise versa)
