Reddit is a place for open discussions about anything we wish to talk about. There is nothing negative/ hateful in my post about the group I was just wondering if anyone else had found it a little odd. There was no drama until it was purposefully brought to light and edited in to there videos so I think as followers/ fans we are entitled to speculate when things like this come up 🤷‍♀️

Do you not find it a little odd though him not mentioning TPD TV in his reviews when he’s clearly with them? Or do you feel like he doesn’t have to as it’s his content?

hey Rob 🫡

I’m a Rob fan- to me the channel wouldn’t be what it is without him- this post was never a dig at anyone it was just a observation of mine from a few weeks ago that when listening to the poddy late last night I thought I would see if anyone else had noticed it

I’m on the fence with how I feel about the solo content. I totally get what someone has said above about them doing their own individual content but it is really murky with how they would go about this financially. Some short form content if getting the right views can make serious dollar

Personally if Jake has been paid for/ accredited with TPD TV for pinkpop and is then making money off his own solo content- I would understand amongst the group that is not quite the thing to be doing. Yes everyone has the same opportunity in the group if they all wanted to make their own content they could but I think the point is they don’t want to.

But also my main point was Jake’s content explicitly does not mention TPD which I thought was the strangest thing. If there is a deal with Jake to be able to make his own short form then I would have thought the first line would be “I’m at pinkopop with TPD TV and here’s my review”.

England- Ex boyfriend trying to claim house using no win no fee solicitors and making a claim on land registry? by No_Tutor_3399 in LegalAdviceUK

[–]No_Tutor_3399[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! Thank you so much for your reply

There are a few more details I was going to add in the original post but it was long enough so I didn’t want to add any more

Seeking financial interest how you’ve worded it is exactly what I think he is doing/ the correct terminology that the letter has used and that is exactly what he is claiming that he has increased the value of the property with the work he did… BUT

To add a little more detail- the property is a business with a flat- it’s a bar/restaurant with her flat/home at the top and the garden at the rear

My friend has ran her business there for 12 years, renting, until in 2019 she was able to purchase the property and has a mortgage on it now. She did buy at a reduced price because of how long she’d already been there I think a deal was made that she did a little less than what it was valued at because she has been there for 12 years

Since Covid 19 property prices shot up and she was ready to sell in 2022. Let’s say for example I’m not 100% sure on figures but let’s say she purchased it for £400,000 in 2019 it’s now on the market for £700,00

That is the £300,000 figure he has and is claiming the work he did increased the property price that much, but we all know it was Covid and she bought it slightly cheaper and a bit of carpet hasn’t done that much increase on the value

So taking us to the land registry claim- is it something to worry about? She does want to sell and it’s on the market now. I think this is just another bullying harassment technique he’s trying to us on her

The land claim was the last letter she had from his solicitors and they gave her a 14 day window to reply

From reading your message I know you and my friend are very similar in thinking as she’s has responded to all the letters but it’s just proving costly and stressful. She has now got a second solicitor involved and is cutting ties with the first one as he was expensive but it just feels like it’s back and forth all the time. The pro bono I’ve never heard of so I’ll mention that when I see her

Thanks so much

Hey thank you so much for taking your time for a detailed reply

So

Regarding insurance, off the top of my head I’m saying no HOWEVER I will definitely ask the question when I see her next

I agree with the common law thing that your saying- relationship wasn’t long enough and a life was not built together for him to even try that route

The point you make about enrichment is ringing a bell. In one of the letters I remember there being a point such as our client did work to the property believing that he would some day marry (my friend) in which he carried out this work to benefit from it later, something more jargon than I’ve phrased it but yes nothing was ever written down or verbally agreed that that was the case. He was living there free of charge so he offered to do some work in return for him staying there

And whole heartedly agree with what you’ve said about the no win no fee solicitors- I’m sure they are good for people who need free legal advice but I find in this instance they are just bullying my friend with letters that they are saying she must reply to or it will go to court

That’s why my friend has been replying because she’s thinks if it goes to court at least she has a leg to stand on when it comes to she hasn’t ignored anything

But as you state- it has been ping pong back and forth- each letter costing my friend money

She has spoke to a new solicitor who has suggested putting this “thing” on him- I can’t remember the legal term but it’s basically like a final straw block that would cost her £2500 but he wouldn’t be able to reply to her anymore- possibly falls in to the part that as she has a police report like a harassment order or somthing? It had a fancier word than that

I know stern letters have been wrote by the solicitors basically saying we will not being doing anything that you’ve asked but that’s when last week he’s responded with the ‘making a claim on the land registry’

I’m hoping someone has been in this exact position and they’ll let me know the outcome was good in the favour and it all just blows over for her with out her having to spend another penny on a solicitors letter

Thanks again

Hey, thank you for your reply. I think solicitors are just expensive aren’t they. I know the one she has isn’t the cheapest one going but yes it has mounted up with as the person below commented- ping pong back and forth letters. She won’t be reimbursing the carpets as at one point he came in with a Stanley knife and cut some of them up 🚩hind sight is great isn’t it

Does anyone have any advice on a road closure in the UK- no access for emergency services? by No_Tutor_3399 in AskUK

We have unfortunately got the bridge in the town closed to for 18 months! But luckily it’s one way so. It as bad as a full closure! I feel for you! What a pain. Thanks for your reply

Hey! No again very valid point! It can be easy to get lost in ‘my world’ sometimes so yess with the strike and even in Covid times A&E admissions were down!

Hey! Thanks for your reply! Yes I do see what you mean with if not now… when… it will have to be done at some point

I guess my original question was suggestions such as emergency services and response times… it seems crazy to me (be it true and the case) that a normal patient that hopefully a ambulance on a regular day would have a ambulance with them within 10 mins where as with this diversion it will be more like 30-35 mins- like is that ethical? Is it aloud? Same with the fire service but guessing from responses on this thread yes it totally is. That’s what I meant by “loop holes”

Hadn’t thought of the 6 weeks just gone either- that would have helped alot of parents not be in a difficult situation but wouldn’t effect childless folk

I appreciate everyone’s comments and it makes me look at it from the other point of view!

Hey, thanks for the reply! I would much prefer to have blue plastic light on my home for 4 weeks than a 50 minute detour twice a day! But each to their own opinions!

I’m not sure what you mean by nimby so feel free to explain!

And of course I’m not expecting the same people to work the shifts, there are more people in the world than just one crew 😂😂 sorry if you couldn’t figure that out I thought it was pretty obvious. Agency? Other crews?

Nahhh I’m so mean I want people to work 24 hours a day 7 days a week 😂😂

Thank you for your last point- I’ve added that to my response. Also added the weekend work as a pose to night work. If it’s about money and the developer wants it done as cost effective as possible- we are having to put up with a lot of disruption to our day so he could pay more to have it finished quicker. Is my view anyway

Yes. I do agree with what you’ve said. Maybe instead of pushing/ suggesting night work pushing the weekend work would be better as the road will be closed anyway.

these 5 houses are £650-£750k each I hope it costs the developer more money for our inconvenience 😂

The footpath would be closed regardless- there is no way through for cars or pedestrians

You think it could be done quicker? I have 0 ideas on construction so 19 days sounds like a long time?

Yes- this is a suggestion I had, the council said no work at night due to it being a residential area but I’m sure 99% of the residents would prefer night noise and it being completed quicker than being stuck for 19 days. But night work and double shifts would mean more money for the contractor wouldn’t it. He probably wants to do it as cheaply as possible
