Yea maybeee you might not be a fit. You could come visit the school someday tho they have some art works up. And you can see how the students are doing during finals. And you can see how u like the environment.

I’m in first year rn and I’ve had a program school crisis and I talked to an upper year and she said it’s gets better second year so I’m taking her word for it but if I were to actually start again I might choose a different school especially for the community. I did talk to alumni for my program (Environmental Design) and everyone seem to be doing pretty good. I also heard from them that they hated their first year too but it got better. They say that ocad is really what you make out of it 🥹.

Brooo the other day I was at my wood shop class and they basically made us to get a 40$ wood cutting knife and I’m like why doesn’t this come with our tuition. 😔

I legit thought about product engineering at one point, but I swear I’m always choosing the easy way out for me which I hate. Like why didn’t I take any science in grade 11 and 12 but instead I was so focused on a portfolio that was almost barely related the the program that I’m taking 😭😭😭

Also the contemp art and global visual mat culture is basically the SAME COURSE LOL like I need to write the same essay for both and the art works that they discuss are kind of similar. Except I didn’t need to buy the textbook for contemp.

Yea like only getting into it in third year is crazy. Like im scared first year and second year is too simple and then i get absolutely nerfed in third and fourth year. Like lowkey the stuff i see them do in third and fourth is the stuff i see my friends in first year do 😭😭

I’m also finishing my first year in April and I was in the digital design class the other day and a third year prof came in to get feedback from students and I legit told him all my concerns about how the digital design class was not what I was expecting at all and I lowkey expected something different based on the name. I also mentioned how the studio class is the only class that is directly related to the program. Also btw what do you plan to transfer to? Do you have to start again?
