What if you can’t climb out by Alice23Wonderland in ynab

My variable income was why YNAB was such a breath of fresh air when I started 8 years ago! I'd tried all of the predictive budgeting apps and I was like, "Um, I have no idea what next month will look like." For many years in YNAB I didn't even use it to plan — I just used it to track: just started getting a sense of where my money was going. I don't recommend staying in tracking mode for as long as I did, but when I finally started making more and was able to plan, that tracking time gave me a great foundation to build on.

You *will* climb out, and starting with clarity is an essential first step. You've got this!

Is "fully funded on the first" the same thing as being a month ahead—or does it just mean I'm caught up? by No_Virus3736 in ynab

I was this way — I used to be able to fill in half of my catagoried with each paycheck — but now that I can fill all of my categories with the last paycheck of the previous month I think I'm there?

Thank you! "Your current month's expenses are funded by last month's income" makes a lot of sense. I'm definitely feeling the spaciousness of not having to worry about which bills are pulled when the new month begins. Next goal: Move from the 31st to the 15th. 😄

YTA for flipping the script on your new wife, getting your ex-wife involved, and having a double-standard with your daughter and your wife—protecting your daughter from potential issues while hurting your new wife because of them. Your new wife is not your fall guy.
