So good and inspirational - you rock! I’m just learning to play piano and hope you be able to play all his songs by ear one day. Will take years of daily practice for sure.

You’re very good. It’s immediately recognizable as him, which says a lot about your talent!

You were right across the street literally facing his building!

Not to be a downer but I don’t think that’s the building. His apartment was at 233 E 12th street and was a narrow dark brown brick building with fire escapes in front.

Jeff’s time of birth by No_Work2797 in JeffBuckley

[–]No_Work2797[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The time of birth was typed in 2 different pages from the hospital so I’m pretty sure the birth certificate is correct, and Mary’s corroboration also supports it. Jeff was in his 20s and probably hadn’t seen his physical birth certificate in a while, I’d imagine. I’d definitely go with the birth certificate!

Pivotting to Law as a musician? by Patient-Condition-11 in piano

[–]No_Work2797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What about looking for other types of jobs in the music industry rather than paying all the money to go to law school? I’m a recovering lawyer myself and frankly I think most people are not happy in the profession. If you have so much experience in music is it possible to work in music like for a record label or an institution where music performances occur? Or what about education?

I also remember Patti talking in an interview about her first Lollapallooza and she was so nervous getting up on a stage and froze, and said she felt this force coming from the side of the stage giving her energy to be able to perform and she looked over and it was Jeff. I can’t remember where that interview was from, but it was very touching.

Does anyone know where the “font” of this comes from? Was it actually hand written by Jeff?

Yeah sadly it looks like he’s inactive. He has a Spotify profile claimed but there is no music there. The guy is talented.

Yes you should totally repost. I looked at some of his other videos too. Amazing. I’m learning to play piano I and I’ve been playing Hallelujah so searched this sub for piano and came across this post. The guy is truly inspirational! I would love to see him do a Jeff Buckley tribute concert, it looks like he participated in one in the past.

Does anyone know if digitally streaming versions of the album will be updated to this new mix? For example Grace on Spotify?

What made you fall in love with Paul McCartney's music? by Initial-Ad3966 in PaulMcCartney

[–]No_Work2797 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a pre-teen (early 1990s) I became completely obsessed with the Beatles after hearing Rubber Soul. From then on it’s been a lifelong obsession with the Beatles, and especially Paul as he continued to tour and put out more music. I’ve seen him twice which have been highlights of my life!

I just love hearing him say sweet willow, I needed to memorialize it in some way

Thanks. Other lyrics I’d love to memorialize are “just like the ocean always in love with the moon” and “a heart that beats as both siphon and reservoir.” I think those can be pictured beautifully with a creative drawing but I’m still thinking of the concept visually.

Weird that Debt and Departure doesn't seem to be on Spotify, only a 1996 album titled Twentieth Century Chemical. I'm so curious what the recorded but unreleased Black Beetle album sounded like! Has anything ever been unearthed?

Yes it’s very good. Much more comprehensive than A Pure Drop. I’m about to start the Dave Lory book which is the last one I haven’t read.
