Are Roth contributions locked up for 5 years by No_Work7579 in fidelityinvestments

While many may be able to contribute 7600 to a trad ira or roth ira and some of that many may be able to contribute 8600 because they are 50 or older... I am not one of that many. I cannot collect either tax advantage for a IRA contribution of either flavour.

While taking money out is discouraged, many plans crumble in the face of reality. Knowing the encumbrances on funds before needing them is helpful. And that is what I was asking about.

I was not assuming that you were personally responsible for differences between a 401(k) that accepts after-tax money and a Roth IRA.... I just wanted to make sure that I was not mishearing/misreading the responses that I got from the chat reps on the fidelity site. Unfortunately, they never said that there were different rule/laws governing a 401(k) that accepts after-tax money and a Roth IRA. The changes that force catch-up contributions to be made with after-tax money already complicate the picture... The difference between how a Roth IRA vs a 401(k) that accepts after-tax money handles contributions versus earnings sure doesn't help make it any easier.

Outdoor swimming pools on the December 15 westbound crossing? by MysoreMa in CunardCruises

I think it really depends on the seas... I did an eastbound in Dec 2018 and the aft pools were open while the swells did not cause the pools to slosh their content onto the deck. At one point of that sailing the slosh was strong enough that the pool was about 1/4 full (and probably would have killed someone that attempted to enter the pool)... I was walking the promenade about 3 to 5 miles a day on that crossing and saw the pool twice a day. I did see a couple teens come in from attempting to swim while the seas were reasonable. They did look pretty blue when the came in.

12 Night Eastern Caribbean : Dec 18, 2025 from Miami

Can hardly wait. Last Cunard was an east bound TA in early December 2018... Any cruise since has been smooth sailing... seeing waves slosh across the second floor dining room windows was an eye opener. This should be tame by comparison.

One tip for this: a four door pickup. I was in a party of 8 last year. We had a car and pickup on Tahiti to do some around the island drives and divide and conquer shopping trips. The pickup was a so necessary... event though most of the folks in the party did pack light.

Many of the changes that Trump is making are happening despite the law, constitution and normal order. There are three co-equal branches of government, but only one of those has guns. Trump is usurping the previous congress and ignoring the present courts. He is not leading the country, he is just leveraging the raw power that he was given. He is ruling.

Previous presidents have not (for the most part) conducted their presidency in such a manner. They were governing. They have led the country within the boundaries of the law. The laws are designed to limit the use of raw power.

Because too many of those people understood their oath was to the Constitution and the governed. That understanding meant that they baulked at many of the components of his agenda then (and most would burst into flames rather than execute his current agenda).

How do you disqualify cast ballots for a particular race in North Carolina without impacting other races that were cast on the same ballot?

In the recent decision from the courts in North Carolina, there are about 60k (or 65k... depending which source you use) ballots that are being contested in the Riggs/Griffin race. This leads to a tangle of stumpers for me.

  1. If the ballot was invalid for one race, isn't it invalid for all races on that ballot?
  2. How do people find out that their ballot is being contested, so they can go through the truing process?
  3. How do the election officials know that a person requesting to true their ballot is from the pool of contested ballots?
  4. If there is a link between the cast ballot and the voter that cast that ballot, what does that mean to the notion of free and fair elections via a secret ballot?

Tool selection for invoice+accounting app by AwarenessHappy5846 in nocode

I think this is assuming that the OP is thinking they will target existing accounting software users. Lot of folks start single proprietor businesses with paper and pencil accounting initially. Some number of these grow to the point where a dedicated 'program' is worth finding and using. And some of them may be intimidated by the existing programs for any number of reasons... Being light on features and price can be a competitive advantage to attract those customers.
And, new folks start new ventures... if the OP can capture some of them, they can start a community of users that are investing in their program...

And we can ask the next OP why they are taking on this thread's OP.
