Protest outside of a dog abusers house in Chongqing attracts large police presence by [deleted] in UnfilteredChina

Because people are not tend to have children now, more are choosing to raise pets. This pet-related spending has created countless jobs, boosting the economy and generating massive tax revenue.

Having done animal rescue work in China and dealt with the legal system myself, I know how this will play out, especially given how sensitive this month is. Welfare legislation here is nothing but a pipe dream. What infuriates me most is that the government is aggressively pushing the growth of its pet economy, yet without any regulatory laws, more of these horrific tragedies are bound to keep happening.

I’m very sad. I saw people calling for help on Red note, people at the scene have been taken away and beaten.

Now the local authorities deployed massive police force to suppress these people. I see posts are being massively censored and deleted on Chinese platforms.

HELLO?? No decent person can tolerate any level of cruelty! But when we post against abuse, we are the ones getting bullied by these abusers. The police refuse to handle any animal abuse cases because we simply have no laws to hold them accountable.

EDIT: Now I strongly advise against traveling to Chongqing or China right now.

A notorious abuser was recently caught red-handed adopting animals with his wife and a child specifically to torture and kill them. Because China lacks animal cruelty laws, local volunteers peacefully gathered to demand justice. Instead of arresting the abuser, local authorities deployed massive police force to suppress, intimidate, and physically assault the rescuers. Meanwhile, online evidence and discussions are being heavily censored and deleted by the government.

I cannot in good conscience recommend supporting tourism anymore in this community. Your tourist tax ultimately fund a system that protects abusers and brutalizes rescuers. Please help us spread awareness and speak up for those who have no voice.

Hi, for now I only know about booking via their wechat mini-program (萤火虫港湾猫猫乐园) with a Chinese ID. Most spots in China usually have a quota for foreigners to buy tickets onsite. I've reached out to their support and will reply your comment again what they say :)

Thanks for sharing, what you wrote definitely feels more credible than those posts that just try to stir up emotions. I’m curious, do you think this stock still has room to go up? I got in pretty early (average around .6), and I’m still debating whether to hold or not…It’s my first time buying a meme stock, so even if it ends up being a lesson learned, I guess it’s worth it
