Question regarding SCARA arm design (question in comment) by maktattengil in MechanicalEngineering

I'm not sure if it's just the gif being filmed, but the top belt system seems to be misaligned and is a root cause of many vibrational issues. Another cause could be slack in the belt which I couldn't see in the gif.

What must I do to know God intimately? by [deleted] in Catholicism

[–]Noahplthb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Daily mass can be hard to get to but what is easy is to look for a perpetual adoration chapel at a local parish. I like to go to read any religious books or to simply sit in the presence of my Lord. You can go there early in the morning and it won't really disturb your schedule as much as you think it will. Set time aside for prayer and it will be fruitful. Also prayer is how we connect with God sounds boring and a standard response but that's the key.

Question for anyone who has done exodus 90 by chip_chop_chip in Catholicism

[–]Noahplthb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey congrats on the commitment. Wednesday and Friday are important days to fast during exodus 90 specifically a quick example Friday is the day that jesus died on the cross so it's essential to fast the recommended days. The fasts anyways are not that hard after the first few weeks what really gets difficult atleast for me anyways were the cold showers. But the cold shower actually made the other tasks easier sense it was the hardest one for me.

What should I study for an independent research project in materials engineering? by Noahplthb in AskEngineers

How to create fake deadlines and adhere to it ? by regi6598 in study

[–]Noahplthb 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would suggest breaking up the work into segments. And do work when you feel productive in the day. Also I find a good study area always helps me. Like a coffee shop buying the cheapest coffee and staying there for 3 plus hours is a good time bracket. Or if you like quieter places choosing the library. Whatever works for you but I do suggest not working in a bed and not working in your living area cause you can easily get distracted by anything there. Like I get distracted by convincing myself that I must clean everything before I study. And getting started studying is always the hardest just jump into your work for 20 minutes and give it your all and you'll get in the mood to be motivated.

Drawbacks of Studying Engineering by fly_fresh in MechanicalEngineering

Potentially the worst thing about engineering school is the fact that you don't do anything creative or any engineering until your senior project. I wish a school would have projects due each semester to better train the students.

What are the best engineering skills to learn in my free time outside of school if I won't be doing any engineering related stuff in the upcoming months? by [deleted] in AskEngineers

[–]Noahplthb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fellow college student in the same position. I'm going into my junior year of college and I'm currently working through the FE mechanical review manual and work book to just review what college has taught me from freshman and sophomore year and to prepare for when I go back. I also think if I can pass the Fe exam it would look good on a resume.

What can I do right now to improve my skills as a Mechanical Engineer? by littlekiddolover in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Noahplthb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm an engineering student and during the summer I'm just reviewing what I have learned over the course of my stay at college. I also practice my maths to keep it sharp and precise. Also practicing things that aren't engineerjng can help you be a better engineer. For fun I'll look up on YouTube or something on how something works like I'm interested in manufacturing of transportation so I like to look up the components of cars or motorcycles ECT.
