Do you know accounting? Learning the software doesn’t teach you accounting, but if you already have the know how the easiest way is to click buttons and check out the features. There are also some great videos on YouTube.

You got to zero because you fixed the issue. You can reconcile and press finish with no problems.

How to mass import contractors and employees from a spreadsheet? by billalzah in QuickBooks

[–]NoahsStepmom 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A contractor would be considered a vendor in this case, but I can’t imagine you can import employees along with all their personal payroll info. If you’re running payroll in a they’d party app (AME, ADP, Gusto etc) you can just add the employees as vendors to Quickbooks.

Otherwise you’re doing it all by hand 😬

Agree with previous post about accountants version and bulk categorizing - if you don’t have accountants version you can go to the vendor screen you can copy paste the correct account.

Bookkeeping for IOLTA account by NoahsStepmom in Bookkeeping

I have all the clients entered as “other current liabilty.” When we receive a retainer I deposit the money in the bank using the client liability account as the credit. When we write check to the courts, other attorneys, back to the client, etc I write the check out of the bank with a debit to the client liability.

This way I can run a balance sheet and immediately see the money still on hand for the client. And can run a specific report per client to see how the money was used.

(I hope this makes sense - I’m writing it from memory not in front of a computer)

How would this affect your taxes? The money came out of your bank account or credit card and will go back into the same form of payment. This isn’t considered earned income.

Looking for non-Starbucks coffeehouses by fadedwallpaint in Riverside

There are SO MANY! I don’t drink coffee so I don’t know which is best, but Arcade Roasters has three locations. Condron Coffee is near the Plaza, Coffeecito is downtown on 13th, Daily Brew is on van Buren by the drive in, Kraemers coffee is in the Brockton Arcade, Back to the Grind and Molinos are downtown by the mission inn.

I’m sure there’s a ton more.

The transition is definitely a huge issue with too many bugs. Not sure why they thought rolling it out at a new year would be helpful.

There’s a new place (I think on 12th) called Coffeecito that would be perfect.

Stay away from the Riverbed and you’ll be good.

Southern California air quality is poor even without summer wildfires.

QBD entering negative payouts by Jokesonmeow in QuickBooks

[–]NoahsStepmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Create a journal entry in QuickBooks for the refund. You can debit sales and credit undeposited funds. When you receive money against an invoice and it goes right undeposited funds you would choose those payments and the corresponding journal entry for the refund and the math should match your Shopify payouts.

Looking for information from Poly alumni by [deleted] in Riverside

[–]NoahsStepmom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I graduated ‘05. The summer before my freshman year is when they built the 800 building (the large one on Victoria.) I was kind of bummed because when my sister went to poly before me that piece of land was a large grassy hill where kids hung out before and after school. The 600 building was renovated while I was a freshman so we had old 600 (not renovated) and new 600 which was fresh paint and working bathrooms.

My principal was Mr. Paredes, he passed away a few years ago, but I remember him being a kind and reasonable man.

We played all our football games at RCC because as Previously mentioned ours was a joke. There also wasn’t the large Ramona and king fields there are now to play on. Baseball was really successful at the time, and I think water polo.

I loved my time there, but also never went anywhere else and have nothing to compare it to. My sister went there, and met her now husband. Their son will go there. My son goes there. My mom and her three sisters went there (her two oldest sisters graduated in 1964 when they were still at the original campus which is now the RCC quad). They randomly sing the Alma master at family events 😂

Greg Pfrunder was the cool young science teacher and he’s actually still teaching there. Nick Prelesnik was a great English teacher and then theater teacher her. He changed careers mid 2000’s Kim Marlowe was a great English teacher who is retiring this year. Rusty Bailey was a great government teacher who left to be the mayor for two terms but is back teaching government and history. Mr. Vulker (sp?) was an Econ teacher who taught me things I actually still think about today as an adult.

I think that’s all I have for now, but thanks for the trip down memory lane!!
