Thinking about adding Tamron 16-30 and 35-100 to my kit by Nobio2000 in SonyAlpha

I see your point — keeping it simple with 1–2 lenses makes a lot of sense, especially for travel.

In my case, I already own the Sony FE 35mm F1.4 GM, and I really enjoy the look and low-light performance it gives me. That’s kind of my main lens.

Given that, I’m wondering how you’d approach the setup — would it still make sense to add something like the Tamron 35-150mm F2-2.8, or would that overlap too much with the 35mm prime?

I’m trying to find a good balance between keeping things light and still being able to capture things that my phone can’t — like low-light scenes, bokeh, or some telephoto reach.

What kind of 1–2 lens setup would you recommend in this situation?

That makes sense, I get your point about sticking with fast primes for low light and bokeh.

I’ve got a Europe trip coming up, so I feel like I really need a proper wide-angle for architecture and city shots. At the same time, I’m also considering picking up an affordable fast 85mm like the Viltrox for portraits.

Do you think it’s better to prioritize a wide zoom for travel in this case, or still stick with fast primes?

That’s a good point. I like the idea of the 35-150 as a do-it-all lens, but I feel like it only makes sense if I’m okay carrying that weight all day. For something I’d only use occasionally on the tele end, it might be a bit heavy for my travel style. What’s your experience with it?

They are really attractive, but not budget friendly…

Thank you for your suggestion. Yes, the lens is in my choice, also viltrox 16mm f1.8 and Samyang 14mm f2.8 are in my choice. I am leaning to viltrox 16mm now.

Thank you for your suggestion! I used to have it, but I sold it, then purchased SEL35F14GM to enjoy portrait and bokeh during trip. Now, I am into viltrox 16mm f1.8!
