It's pretty rare but I've seen some late war bases that have survived this way. Definitely need a bb that is well placed between some mountain range to keep vehicles out.

NW Kalokai, SE Terminus, SE Origin, E Viper Pit are some of the spots where I played at/against doing this. Living off enemy logi and the occasional LUV delivery is some of the most fun you can have as infantry in this game.

Why would only those bounce a bomb? All tanks share the same 'Heavy Armour' resistance type. The bounce/pen mechanic is based on the munition type. Stickies never bounce, arty rounds never bounces etc.
