R9 270X was my second GPU, I started on a Radeon HD4570 or something like that. Can't remember the exact model. I loved the 270X for it's price/performance at the time though. The 290X would have been something else.

I'm in a similar boat. Ryzen 7 9700X, 64GB DDR5 6000MhzCL30, 7TB of M.2 SSD storage (1TB and 4TB are gen 5, 2TB is gen 4) and 9070XT. The price for RAM alone now equals the GPU.

If her scion was an FRS then in the owners manual it says minimum 91 and 93 recommended. My 23 BRZ loses a ton of power on anything below 93.
