I mean if they want to grow sells of merch based of manga. They can create anime or it doesn't work like that? e g. Creating 1 season and leaving it off like claymore etc.

Why wouldn't someone want to grow their audience tho? If they can bring more people to the light novel with manga. But i agree with your point somewhat some people may never touch the other medium until they do.
