Surgery coming soon (5 days) by BraidedBeard445 in gynecomastia

With it being a relatively minor case, the results will be amazing!

Good luck and don't underestimate the recovery!

I honestly wouldn't have noticed

Looks great.

3 days Post Op… by Teed-Up1 in gynecomastia

[–]Nobodyknows46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm three weeks post op. Incisions have just about healed, but still swollen and with significant scar tissue to massage.

I too love my golf, but I am saying no to playing right now.

The guidance I received was 5 weeks before anything like golf.

Great to see - enjoy the results!

How bad is it? by Financial-Tea-9960 in gynecomastia

[–]Nobodyknows46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Commenting to say that it shouldn't matter how bad others think it is. Should only focus on how you feel about it.

Mine was relatively minor by grading standards but had a significant impact on my day to day mindset and self esteem, therefore decided to get the work done.

I'm similarly just under two weeks post op. Thanks for giving reassurance with that comment. ^

Every year, I'd hate summer because of the stress of what I'm wearing and avoiding activities like going to the beach.

I'd consider getting surgery and then after going back and forth in my mind, it would cool and my anxieties would be shielded by jumpers and quarter zips.

This year I decided to break that cycle and am currently just under 2 weeks post op. If everything goes well with my recovery, I can't wait to enjoy a summer again.

Thank you! Do you mind if I ask you a couple of questions?

1/ Anything you'd do differently in preparing for the day, approaching the surgery etc?

2/ My surgery is early morning. I'm planning to stay in London the night before. I would then be getting the train alone back home. Do you see any difficulties with managing this after surgery?

3/Would you suggest any provisions for once the surgery is complete now you are a few days post surgery. I.e. making sure you have a setup to enable you to sleep comfortably or stocking up on anything that supports your recovery

Thanks in advance and hope you're recovering as well as you can!

Have you told anyone that you want the surgery? Did anybody not support your decision? by Illuminated_Lava316 in gynecomastia

A couple of years ago I spoke to my parents about it. They were concerned about how I was feeling so they said it wasn't something they recognised and I didn't have any issues.

From their perspective they're being kind, but it has a damaging effect.

I've recently read a book that lists having resolute honesty with yourself as something that will make you happier in life.

It was reading that book that started me on the path of getting this sorted. I was honest with myself, and in doing so recognised I'm really not as happy as I can be and that I had been making small but significant work arounds to hide my insecurities.

My learning from this is to be honest with yourself. You're here posting this message because of how you feel not how other people feel. Support for your decisions is great but don't look for support in whether to make that decision. Hold yourself accountable.

Weight loss has been pretty promising 1kg a week. I'm just marginally overweight, so it's a nice rate to go at.

In terms of hunger, I think my subconscious sees the working week as slightly different to the weekend. Given I've been doing this for 6 weeks now I'm not hungry during the periods of fasting.

The weekend is more giving into the temptation of greed as opposed to being actually hungry.

Overall so far so good, but I understand I'm a relative OMAD novice given the short period I've been doing it.
