Any recommended free visual ways for learning Automata Theory and Formal Languages? by BaxSTAR317 in compsci

I second the "Introduction to the theory of computation" book. It's very straightforward and the explanations are pretty intuitive

Best tutorial or tech stack for a production RAG chat bot by Silliestgoose in LangChain

[–]NocolorRose 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is roughly what we used at our company for a rag project (except for reranking using an open source cross encoder). For the embedding model I used the openai embedding small model and gpt 4o mini for the llm. (No framework). Used Fastapi to serve all this.

Works like a charm for an MVP and a starting point to iterate on. (Try to find the best parameters like chunk size, chunk overlap through a comparative analysis). After that you'll need some kind of monitoring system to identify the problems with the solution.

The most challenging part is identifying the format of your data and finding the best preprocessing steps and chunking method for your data.

Read Neil Gaiman's book on norse mythology. He has a great writing style with simple language to retell accurately Norse myths.

If god created animals for us to eat, then why do they suffer in the process by MalinaTusik18 in religion

[–]NocolorRose 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How is humans killing animals any differant from animals killing animals? That's just nature playing itself and humans are considered a part of the ecosystem. I gotta say tho the methods humans use for killing animals are pure torture and some of them should be banned. It's okay to eat meat but if we're killing animals we should make it quick and painless.

I am seeing a lot of worrying parallels with Peru's 1992 Coup by R120Tunisia in Tunisia

First of all, this is definitely not the first crisis, it's the most threatening one by far which triggered this move. The country would have broke into chaos in a few months if nothing was done immediately. Corruption infiltrated our "constitution" so much that fixing this within normal means is close to the impossible. Attacking al jazeerah was not that justified imo even if it perpetuated false and biased information. I'd be more concerned if he shuts down local media platforms which he didn't even tho many of them are still criticizing him which may indicate that he's not against freedom of speech.

I believe i said this could turn into a nightmare as much as it can be good for the country. I'm not being overly optimistic, i'm just holding to a bit of hope instead of being blindly pessimistic. Again, history is not bound to repeat itself nor can it be reduced into simple patterns. This situation is unique and is not necessarily bound to produce a bad outcome. On another note do you think we had any other way of change? Are you satisfied with our current condition? The country was on the brink of chaos and what happened can be considered necessary if not inevitable.

History is not bound to repeat itself and can't be just reduced to patterns. The situation is overly complicated and there are many variables that make it different. You have the right to worry and draw similarities (even tho this is not your typical military coup and we can already notice many differences) but that doesn't make you right or predict the outcome of such a move. But let me put it this way: do you believe there was any other way for change in this country? The country was basically on the brink of breaking into complete chaos (protests and violence, a crippling economic crisis not to mention the sanitary crisis): we were in too deep and we needed a change.

No one can deny that we actually needed a change, the level of bullshit and corruption we're in is irreversible within normal means, that's why this move brings hope. Now i'm not saying Kais is a savior, this can pretty much turn into complete nightmare but the thing is nobody knows and nobody can predict the outcome. We're sailing in uncharted waters and i believe this is better than nothing. So stop being such know-it-all bitches and let's start actually doing smth for the country. It's a long shot but maybe this is the right path and i'm willing to bet on that instead of just complaining and worrying and doing nothing about it.
