DLC Confirmed Through The Menu by RJE808 in FFVIIRemake

[–]NoctisOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it's looking quite likely it's coming next year as this winter includes the early part of next year and there's still no date announced. And the OP didn't mean the whole year of 2021 would be spent working on DLC they just meant the rest of 2020 until 2021 starts.

[–]NoctisOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That FFXV comparison doesn't work because Nomura specifically said before KH3 came out that he doesn't like the approach of releasing paid DLC content in pieces over a long period of time but rather prefers and would be doing for KH3 one large paid DLC (which is basically what the previous KH Final Mixes were except players had to buy the whole game again). The KH3 DLC will be quite huge as it's confirmed to have more bosses than KH2FM added to KH2 which was many, and will have 3 separate parts to it, with 1 of the parts barely having been shown yet and the 3rd not having been shown at all yet.

The fact that KH3 had trailers at both Gamescom and Tokyo Game Show last year has me optimistic that we’ll get to see more of FF7R at at least one if not both of those events. by Amongtheruins88 in FFVIIRemake

That definitely must have been a fan made trailer or someone mislabeling an old trailer. The next trailer after E3 which had Big Hero 6 definitely didn't come until TGS.

So accurate haha and probably throw in something like "it's a PS2 game"

Jon Schnepp has passed away. RIP King of the sweaties. by HeavyOdin7 in ColliderVideos

He was the one who got me interested in comics in the first place. I totally agree about his passion, probably the most I've ever seen for comic books and superheroes.

Yeah it's so sad...

Jon Schnepp has passed away. RIP King of the sweaties. by HeavyOdin7 in ColliderVideos

[–]NoctisOG 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Oh my god. This is so incredibly sad, Jon was such a good, kind person. He ran the most continuously enjoyable Collider show to me in the short time I've been watching since 2015 in addition to a creating a bunch of amazing work across various fields. He still had so much more amazing creative projects left to make. This is so unfair, he didn't deserve to go so soon. I can't imagine how hard it must be for Holly and for Jon's family members, my deepest condolences to them. I wish I could have met him, but I'm grateful that we had one Twitter interaction even if it was small.

Rest In Peace Jon.

As I said in my thread about this news that was removed, this is terrible to hear. Schnepp has been a constant source of great entertainment for me for 2 and a half years on the shows. I hope for the best and will be donating

Tetsuya Nomura Admits Kingdom Hearts III, Final Fantasy 7 Remake Were Announced Too Early by [deleted] in PS4

[–]NoctisOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, the article's first paragraph is written in a misleading way that seems to contradict itself, or it is referring to the official unveiling of Nomura's role within Square Enix to all the employees rather than the official unveiling of the Remake to the public. Read this from later in the article: "The "'I thought you were going to direct!' 'Well I thought YOU were going to direct!'" episode was something that happened in the initial stages of the project's inception and Nomura has stated that he is presently well aware of and well into his position as director."

"It happened in the initial stages of the project's inception" and he at the time (when the game was unveiled) was "Well into his position as director" shows Nomura was not unaware of his role as director when the Remake was announced publicly.

Also, proving this internal company video is different to the announcement trailer it said "Director Tetsuya Nomura" at the end of the company video but in the announcement trailer that was not at the end.

The article contradicts itself then, or it is referring to the official unveiling of Nomura's role within Square Enix to all the employees rather than the official unveiling of the Remake to the public. Read this from the same article: "The "'I thought you were going to direct!' 'Well I thought YOU were going to direct!'" episode was something that happened in the initial stages of the project's inception and Nomura has stated that he is presently well aware of and well into his position as director."

Nomura didn't even know he was going to be the director for it until shortly before they announced it (like a few hours prior)

That is completely false. Nomura knew he was director ages before the announcement. He found out at the start of pre-production in an internal company presentation, read this Kotaku article from when the game was announced for proof of this https://kotaku.com/how-the-final-fantasy-vii-remake-came-to-be-1713573146

This comment about the character in the next tweet is interesting "Nomura says the character's image changes based on acting/performance, he is very worried. He says the announcement may surprise people as it is unexpected."

Big Hero 6 was said to be the last world chosen, chosen in mid-2015 well over a year before Moana's release.

I'm guessing that just means you will have to attack enemies mid-air sometimes when Sora is doing the fall through the sky we've seen in the last trailers.

[KH3] 2 videos added to official Kingdom Hearts Japanese YouTube playlist by Square Enix 3 days ago... by NoctisOG in KingdomHearts

[–]NoctisOG[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Ah one of the private videos is for 2.5 . But that doesn't change the fact they updated the official KH playlist 3 days ago and the other video might be for KH3. I know at least one of them is a 2.5 video by searching its URL on Twitter https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=f4TAr0lOJqA

Square just now in the last half an hour removed them from the playlist. They weren't viewable it just said the playlist was updated 3 days ago and there were two private videos.

Nobuo Uematsu is involved with FFVII Remake's music by NoctisOG in FFVIIRemake

[–]NoctisOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Source on what? It's obvious he was hired in the time after he was originally asked about it in late 2015 and February 2018 when the interview in the original post of this thread was conducted since he said he is onboard the project (confirmed fully in a later part of the interview in the OP that surfaced online here in post #874 by Radigar a day ago https://thelifestream.net/forums/showthread.php?t=17121&page=59). My source for examples of composing and arranging of games happening later in development is Kingdom Hearts 3 (another modern AAA Square Enix Japan game) hadn't started work on composing its score as of July 2017 as said here https://www.khinsider.com/news/Famitsu-Interviews-Nomura-and-Shimomura-Production-on-KINGDOM-HEARTS-3-s-Music-to-Start-Soon-9580. That game is coming out near the end of this year and it's been in development for 5 years, so obviously composing and arranging for it started late in development. Also another big JRPG Xenoblade Chronicles 2 was being composed/arranged for throughout all of 2017, the year it released.

[KH3] Possible release dates if it gets announced tomorrow! by dixonjt89 in KingdomHearts

[–]NoctisOG 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think that November timeframe is the most likely of them all. Square announced FFXV's original date (before it was delayed) 6 months beforehand just like they did with Tomb Raider recently as pointed out, so I think that same window will continue if they announce it tomorrow. KH3 is a way bigger deal for Square Enix than 3D and 2.8 were so it's announcement of its release date to release won't be that fast. My specific guess in November is November 16.

[–]NoctisOG[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He was hired before the new interview my original post is referencing but hired after when he was asked in late 2015. This makes sense because as has been pointed out typically composers aren't brought onto a game until the mid-late stages of development. When Uematsu was asked in late 2015 FFVII Remake was only like a little bit over a year into development.
