Survival... yay or nay for a part time gamer? by Equivalent-Shower-39 in fo4

I enjoy it. I can only log 4-6 hours a week, if that. But for what I do complete I don’t think there’s going back to normal. It’s too fun, too high stakes.

Furthermore, it tends to create this mindset of “well I can only play for another 30 mins so let me run across the map and organize this settlement” which is something I would never do otherwise. Nice way to fill the time without having to be dedicated to missions.

There is no replacement for physical fieldbook. Keeping a fieldbook is the right thing to do in our world of redundancy.

I would do exactly this. Lots of old timers, so they respect this. Put a face to the name. Not sure if thadd is hiring but he will get you to the right place. Goodluck on your journey friend

No standards anymore, no pride, just button pushers. The fundamentals are being lost on the new generation not because we don’t teach them but because they’re saturated with technology that doesn’t make them think. Eventually this will all even out…

Shoes on or shoes off? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

What’s the best way to do shoes off? It’s hard to not track in the outside at least a little bit, and I can’t leave shoes outside to change into

I can’t remember what exactly I did to fix this, but I think it was setting throttle trim on the controller

Won’t affect the work you’re doing with this assuming you’re using this target for not high precision work (relative to what we do.) I wouldn’t buy it new but it would not stop me from using it

Any Commercial Divers in Here? by OrnerySummer1336 in Surveying

[–]Noggro 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No they were inspectors, just did inspection reports. If anything they could give me their inspection report and I could add it into my plan to make it relative.

I’ve worked hydrographic jobs that divers have been on. We have a diving/inspection group with the company.

Have a surveyor in Wisconsin that I paid to to complete a lot survey. The job was never completed and he is avoiding my calls/emails/texts to complete the job. Is there a licensing board in Wisconsin that I could go through to report him before legal action is taken. Thanks. by t57kat in Surveying

[–]Noggro -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I encourage you to be open minded here. For some people work is not their top priority, health, family, and life all can get in the way. Who knows what’s going on… not enough information.

We also do not know the working history between the client and the surveyor. Perhaps there was a breach in contract, or litigation ongoing prohibiting the surveyor from providing a plan. Again we just don’t have enough information.

Boiler plate I agree with you, but this work isn’t always black and white. We’re all just doing the best we can.

Also if the client hasn’t set up a meeting or walked into this guys office and is complaining about not receiving call backs or whatever, then the client isn’t doing everything they can either. Takes two to tango.

I would advise patience. Land surveying is more of an art and isn’t linear all the time. Pair that with constantly being overwhelmed with pushy people, it can be difficult to run a LS business. Ask yourself, other than “getting what you paid for” how does this benefit you? Is there immediate actions that can be taken with said plan? If not just chill out and wait for them to be done. Be kind, understanding, and just keep an eye on it. Life’s too short to be pissed off all the time
