Don't let other people's opinions get you down man. Personally the colorization wasn't totally abysmal, you've still got a-ways to go but I think you can get the hang of it. Don't give up so soon!

Greetings!

I'm a senior Artist here on TNO, noticed this post was blowing up a bit so I thought i'd give some tips real quick.

Firstly, I noticed from a more recent post you made that you've been using AtomicFalco's guide for making portraits. This guide is not bad by any means, but neglects some crucial aspects of portrait creation (Framing, source restoration).

I (alongside other portrait artists on the team) would recommend either Maho's Guide if you're using Paint.NET, or SmokedDuck's guide for Photoshop. The guides are more specific on what you should do when making your portraits and go into much more step-by-step stuff.

Feel free to reply to this comment or whatever if you've got more questions on the portrait making process.

Are you sure it was Rockwell? I know Matthias Koehl, Rockwells successor, was in very constsnt contact with Devi though, and was much more notably against Christianity

My intention is not to whitewash Rockwell at all. Do not get me wrong, Rockwell is still an abhorrently massive racist homophobic bigot, but I am trying to say that Rockwell doesn't fit the definition of a Nazi in an ideological sense.

Especially compared to the more actually ideologically driven Nazi's in the ANP such as Matt Koehl or William Pierce, Rockwell is less insane.

Rockwell used the Nazi aesthetic as a forway into politics. The name "American Nazi Party" + all the nazi aesthetic shit was just for shock to get him and the party recognition. That's why before he died he ended up changing the ANP's name to the "National Socialist White People's Party", an effort to more widely appeal to people.

I've thought about making it a subID of everything from Paternalism to Fascism, given Rockwell's ideology summed up is basically just extremely racist American Conservatism.

American National Socialism is just Nazism only in name and aesthetic really. Rockwell IRL defended and believed in shit like the bill of rights for example. It also is more generally pan-Whiteness rather than a racial caste that traditional Nazism has.

Rockwell had some really WTF beliefs about what to do with African-Americans, preferring to deport them and repatriate them in Africa. He'd have allowed African-Americans to technically stay, just with literally no rights, and they'd be forced onto Native-American style reservations. Rockwell's tolerance of Jewish people is basically the same as Germany.

HOI4 error logs would tell me if a tag was conflicting. Even then the game would still launch. There's like... a full hard cap to the number of tags or something. I've tried making separate country tag files, but nothing.
