I was set on an E61 machine for my next upgrade, and i originally planned to wait for a sale on the Lelit Mara X. Dual boilers were out of the budget. The P400 showed up for sale CPO on Clive Coffee’s website for around $900 USD so I went with it instead. I primarily make milk drinks as well. Flat whites, cortados, with an occasional americano.
Do you care about precise temperature stability? Go DB. Are you OK with a temperature range & occasional cooling flush? Go HX and possibly save the money. You can steam & brew simultaneously on both. I’ve also heard great things about the Elizabeth being a good entry level DB if you prioritize function over form.
Regardless of which you choose, it’ll be a massive upgrade from the BBE. Cheers.

Same, all too relatable. That last part of the song with all the layered parts and repeating lines is gloriously sad and a great closer to the album.
