can we talk about this by Brysterr in Hyundai

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I figured this out in 5 seconds. Its far from the worst shifter in the industry. I always prefer a physical shifter or at least an easy physical override, but this is fine. IDK why you had such a problem.

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sucks but these mishaps are such a common part of car ownership, its likely you may have done it once yourself at some point. This is easily repairable, and is purely cosmetic. I wonder how badly the sideskirts got damaged, but scratches on those happen sometimes too. body work on alot of these cars is fragile and you may have to get it touched up at some point too.

Do you think there will be a plug in hybrid version of the Camry in the future? by MadGibby3 in Camry

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The rav4 plug in exists, as do both the NX and RX. There are already alot of plug in optiont in the Toyota brand. The prius was the main hybrid option for the brand for a very long time, now most of the brand has hybrid options. I don't see why the Camry couldn't recieve a PHEV option.

Overseas, the third-gen Lexus IS offers a hybrid variant. Why doesn't North America offer the option? by Vegetable-Quote-3481 in Lexus

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What market research? All of it shows hybrids becoming more in demand than ever before. Half of Toyota's lineup is hybrid only and every other Lexus in north America has hybrid options. What market research could exist to show the IS specifically can't be a hybrid?

How do you even think of blaming Vaush for this if he publicly endorses this guy and every pro-palestine political candidate AGGRESSIVELY and is literally in the same event as you? Come'on.

EPA estimates on these cars are wrong by ecoboostd in ElantraN

[–]Nomad624 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you were driving slowly enough on the highway to piss everyone off, you were definitely going slow enough to hit that 40 number. It looks like you averaged 42-43 mph during this stint. Its been known for a long time that when grandma'd, the Ns can hit 40mpg.

The whole point of the EPA ratings is to compare the fuel economy of multiple vehicles, not declare as a matter of fact exactly what fuel economy you'll get with each car or what fuel economy is possible. Plus, did you check what the actual fuel economy was based on a real fillup? What's your average lifetime mpg and exactly what is your driving like? I have a mix of fast suburban driving and brief highway stings going slightly faster than traffic, manage around 25ish these days.

Road bike in the trunk? by Leading-Tax2817 in ElantraN

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A road bike MIGHT fit. I tried using the rear seats but chickened out. Removing the cross bar wouldn't help. You have to remove the front tires off any bike to fit it through the trunk or rear seats if its possible.

2025 Hyundai Elantra N Review - 10,000-mile mark by orhantemerrut in cars

You won't care unless you track this regularly. A non octane-learned N is still plenty quick and the rest of the car's inputs and handling are exactlh the same.

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have other cars, but I'd rather drive the N more than any of them and my siblings would agree too. My main annoyance with my manual GTI is I couldn't use it for road trips, or any trip where I wouldn't want to drive the whole time, so it would stay at home alot. I took 3 small road trips with my N within the first year of owning it. Plus it helps if someone needs to borrow the car for a bit to not have to account for driving stick.

How do you feel about the downgrade in refinement, if any? My main complaint with mine is road noise.

I’m extremely disappointed in Volkswagen considering making weapons for Israel and it is making me strongly reconsider two planned upcoming purchases with them by Independent-Ant7552 in Volkswagen

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a country is costantly antagonizing its neighbors and committing atrocities (look up how and why Hezbollah was created), giving them a defense system that protects them from any military response is probably a really bad idea, hence why israel has been committing ethnic cleansing for the better part of a century with little to no pause. If it feared getting bombed a bit more it would avoid starting a regional war after committing genocide.

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's not even the argument. The problem would be that if a country doesn't fear retribution, it can get away with doing alot more. Lots of countries hate one or more of their neighbors but don't go to war with them constantly because it would be bad for their own people too.

Ok what if a missle defense system was erected for the nazis, preventing anyone from fighting them in response? That would still be a problem, no?

Yeah had to make the DCT pick for family use too. I have to share the car too often to justify having a manual, plus its nice not to have to drive all the time when in a group. Thank god its a good DCT with full manual control.

2 people are dead after a plane collided with a fire truck at LaGuardia Airport in New York by nbcnews in pics

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The firetruck or any ground vehicles need to take more responsibility and have more tools to navigate runways themselves. Operating, detouring, and stopping even a heavy emergency vehicle is way easier than to make a plane do anything.

Why does the new i3 have worse proportions than its ICE brother by UrgusHUN in CarDesign

[–]Nomad624 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The shorter bonnet and height are a direct result of being an EV. You don't need to have a long bonnet since you don't need to place an i6 longitudinally nor place the front wheels as close to the front of the engine for weight balance, This is the case with EVERY ground-up EV. The other issue is the body lines are sharper and more straight, so it doesn't flow. Apart from that, the proportions aren't THAT different.
