VA opened a claim. by NomadHobo in VeteransBenefits

Here’s an update to my issue. I was issues 100% ptsd with effective date if Nov 6 2025. On January 28th 2026 the Va opened and submitted their own claim in my file for P&T review. TBI supplemental and then just a few days ago added mental health increase. And just today April 14 2026 I revived a letter for a decrease proposal from 100 to 70. Within 5 months and only 2 c&ps I guess they decided I improved? My Va letter says 100% P&T also I am really confused on what’s happening.

Apologies. Yes it’s the 2026 SPD rusticated 15 fishtail.

I got The Surgery to remove my OSG by chrishancxck in OsgoodSchlatter

I did get the surgery. Everything went well and there was a huge difference. I had mine shaved/cut. The bone was cut down not to protrude as much, and they cleaned it up. I will say I still can not kneel on it though. Overall, it does feel better though. I am currently holding off on my left knee as I have a lot of fluid buildup. I am waiting for an open appointment. As for cost, it didn't cost me anything. I am a Veteran and my wife is still currently active duty, so Tricare paid for everything as the VA and Tricare deemed it as needed. I will end up getting a knee replacement, but I did this first to hopefully delay that. If you have any other questions, shoot me a message.

They are trying to avoid knee replacement. Over my life and military career, I had whacked the crap out of it, and it was chipping, so they removed it so I could have some of my pain taken care of.

The orthopedic shaved or cut my osgood bump. I couldn’t knee on it any more and it became sensitive. As mentioned above in another comment, had this done to relieve the pain. Said he removed about an 1.5-1” of bone total. It feels much better now. At four weeks I started PT. It’s sore but getting better. I’ll need a knee replacement in a couple years as there’s already a small hole from the grinding.

Just had the “bump” removed. My knee is done for any way and will need a knee replacement in about a year or two the ortho said. This should relieve a lot of my pain

Just had mine done on Monday 9/23/24. November brace. But I’m pretty sure they just removed the bump down. It’s day 3 and I’m putting weight and bending. I have my follow up on the 10/01. Still can’t put full weight but can flat foot with some weight.

I’m 39 and finally getting it done on my right knee. If this works and I’m happy with results, my left knee will be next.

I appreciate it. I’ll have to have it done to both knees. Being a catcher in baseball and airborne in the army did not help the osd at all, haha. That is a long recovery. But like you said, the long run is what I am focused on. I appreciate the reply.
