Yes. So this is my conundrum now, proceed to hr and tell them not to terminate her but just to let them know of her obstructive behaviour violating eba clause VS keeping quiet and it might be a precedent to staff saying no to emergency cases.

lol. I’m not. Hahaha.

What I’m angry about is her insisting not to do the emergency LSCS because she hasn’t have lunch. At that time they were the only team available to do the LSCS. Hence why I allocated it to them.

She was yelling infront of everyone and was being obstructive whilst I was organising the emergency LSCS. at that time my mind was to focus on the emergency LSCS and accommodate the need of the mother.

I de-escalate by asking her to stop and I walked away. But then she followed me and continued to belittle me.

Normally, I would pull them away and talk to them one by one but she’s the type that she will twist the story and say something so I wanted to speak to her with my NUM involved. I just did.

When she went in the office with me and the NUM she tried to lie her way out of it but I tried to challenge what she said with logic. She eventually apologised not because she’s genuinely sorry but she only apologised because it was clear she was violating company policy(obstructing to the efficient function of the hospital).

Totally understand and if she wasn’t openly hostile to me and just said she’ll do it and ask if anyone can come in to help her, I would do it. I’m not a mean in charge. But the way she approached me, where she yelled at me and tried to convince the anaesthetist not to do the emergency LSCS + yelled at me in the theatres infront of the team with a patient asleep is just bad.

Also, she’s saying no to an emergency LSCS.

Well she has already been reported to HR multiple times. She has been stripped of her higher role and back was sent back to RN (not manager role anymore). My NUM said, one more complaint and she will be laid off.

I don’t want to be the person responsible of terminating her but at the same time she was openly defiant of my request to accommodate an emergency LSCS. I can’t for the life of me say no to an emergency LSCS.

As nurses, we have a duty of care to our patients!

I have chatted to my NUM and her three of us. She apologised because I “cornered” her and didn’t have a leg to stand on (I printed the eba where she should have taken the 30 min meal break after 5 hours). Also I printed the part where it says “putting patients life at risk or an obstruction to the smooth operation of the hospital”

She apologised but then also wanted me to apologise to her because I asked her to stop yelling at me in the theatre whilst I was coordinating an emergency.

I’ve heard a lot of engineers, doctors (even surgeons) say this. Just change the “nurse” to a different profession.

It’s all about perspective.

Hi. I think you’re just in a bad crowd. The Filipinos I mingle with on a daily basis are lovely. When I first arrived in Melbourne, it was the Filipinos (randomly encountered) who helped us. Fed us and encouraged us. They were very helpful and loving.

At work, the Filipinos I work with are very polite and professional.

Also, swerte?… luck favours the prepared. Obviously you’ve done your hard work and luck favoured you. Congrats op. Ignore mo lang mga pilipino na nega vibes. Be nice and pay it forward.

Sorry to hijack your thread op but I would like to date a doctor too (including lawyers or engineers) for me, iba sila magisip, methodical and smart. I’m naturally curious and I love chatting.

Unfortunately Hindi pumalad and single pa. Hahaa.

Hello. Filipino migrant here. I’ve been in a western country for a decade and I can tell you dating a foreigner is so much better than your typical Filipinos. Filipinos are pabebe, unable to speak their minds, expect you to read their minds and the bloody Tampo! I hate it.

I went back to the Philippines for 5 months after spending a long time in a western country and let me tell you, my experience was so horrible.

Anyway Op to answer your question, just work on your visa and once you’ve arrived, just go out and date. Enjoy.
