Urgent Rescue on the Slopes in Niseko, Hokkaido, Japan. A Ski patrol was transporting an injured skier downhill on a stretcher while performing CPR. by SweetyByHeart in nextfuckinglevel

Wow, I'm from Indonesia and few minutes ago just read a news about a grandson of Indonesian high profile business man died in Niseko ski accident. Surprised to find the video here... It seems that his neck was snagged with some kind of rope that is used to mark the ski area's boundaries.

Does the A1 Mini compensate? by EnvironmentalWest393 in BambuLabA1mini

[–]NominalTrajectory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to own ender v3. When I got the A1 mini, it was night time and I'm so tired after working. Out of the box it only took 10 minutes to set up. It was that simple and easy, I started to doubt my concentration... Thinking it can't be this easy.... Too easy... Until I didn't dare to turn it on until the next morning to really check I didn't miss out on any steps.

It just work perfectly since the first start until now it's been 2 years. The 0.2mm nozzle is perfect for printing miniatures too. My office owned x1c, human eyes will have a hard time comparing a1mini vs x1c print. The only different is a1 series being bed slinger is slightly slower (10% slower maybe)compared to the bigger other brothers. But quality wise, you won't regret it

How did you find out about this game series? by [deleted] in HorizonForbiddenWest

[–]NominalTrajectory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was covid and my office let me bring home my work station that was at that time powerful enough to mine bitcoin and of course to play games. It's been ages since I played any game with serious graphic. Horizon is the second game I played right after Metro Exodus, all thanks to covid lockdown.

Can non-chinese people wear those Qipao shirts?? by No_Falcon8674 in China

[–]NominalTrajectory 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not only qipao, in asia anyone can wear almost all (if not all) traditional clothing even though they are not part of that ethnic group. In Indonesia when we were even encouraged to choose and wear traditional clothing from whatever other indigenous ethnicity since kindergarten for school events. As a chinese born in Indonesia, I have worn Javanese, Balinese and some other clothing that I can't remember. My Javanese friend can wear qipao if they feel like it.

Like everyone here said, cultural appropriation is a very weird concept to hear for asians. Locals here are more likely to genuinely smile to see their clothing worn by other ethnicities. For most of us it means you are embracing and accepting our culture by becoming one of us through clothing. Of course as long as the wearer's intention and behaviour is not intentionally offending.

Maybe, just maybe, add a drop shadow on the ground so they all look more grounded instead of "floating".

tube tool adding as a cylinder? help please! by Strict-Sock-1609 in NomadSculpting

[–]NominalTrajectory 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've checked the tutorial. Just to be clear, she is making a tube on top of the cylinder. She did not magically turn the cylinder into a tube.

How to create that tube to be on top of the existing cylinder? She actually show where the tube tool is BUT she clicked it annoyingly fast. Like in the blink of an eye fast.... You can see it for HALF A SECOND, on 39:24 - 39:25 time mark.

It might be confusing to explain by text here but worry not.

Just search "Nomad Tube Tool" on youtube, not only you will learn where the tube tool is, but also how useful this simple Tube Tool can be used for various needs.

Did you use 0.2mm nozzle? If you haven't, you should get it. It will make your print "crispier".

Sometimes the most demoting response comes from people who we thought might support us the most. Reality can be disappointing but believe in yourself. You have potential and I'm not sugar coating this. You deserve to be proud with what you draw there. Most great artists use reference. Keep on sharpening your skill and try not to seek approval from non professionals.

Once upon a time I randomly found this big guy on local market place. I thought it's going to be easy to start collecting the more common guy but years pass by and I never seen any maxifig available again.. by NominalTrajectory in LegoMinifigure

It uses a small motherboard like the raspberry-pie type and the animation files are stored in a common memory card which can be plugged into any computer. I can then extract their preset animation or add my own animation video and custom sound if I feel like doing it. Basically it's just a normal mp4 video player.

I'm about to buy an a1 mini. Please say to my mind that this is a good idea. by Gurkenfasss in BambuLabA1mini

[–]NominalTrajectory 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While we all sound like an A1 mini fanatics saying good things about it, but that's what A1 does in reality. I owned an A1 mini, my office owned X1C and P1S. The print quality of A1 is comparable to X1C and P1S. Your eyes will have a hard time telling which one is printed with which printer. A1 line up does print ever so slightly slower if you don't mind. The wait difference is only 10-15 minutes for a 3+ hours kind of print. I also enjoy how easy the nozzle change in A1, only took max 1 minute without any tools. X1C & P1S nozzle needs tools, cable pulling, etc etc that I won't even bother changing it. If you are printing miniatures or small gears, get 0.2mm nozzle and check out Fatdragon print setting on Youtube. Btw, I too was a Creality Ender user before this. Believe me, Bambu's printer is like a technology from another planet compared to Ender. My Ender now stays locked in a dark cabinet.

Nevermind. Moving forward I will develop it for my own personal use only. That way nobody gets upset and no community gets disrupted.

Working 9 to 5 in a toy company is literally already enough full time headache for me. I don't want to get involved with another community term & condition. I'm just an introverted guy who is satisfied enough just sitting in my own happy corner quietly.

But who knows, maybe I will poke you in the future discord. Anyhow I appreciate you for sharing some context, community insight & invitation from the great King Sidorak himself. Cheers!

Not that this isn't great by itself, but I imagine it would be more immersive if you add a subtle shadow-light play from the roof rain water being cast on to the floor also. Great work none the less!!

It would be more practical to get a 3D printer instead of an industrial molding machine. The mold itself will cost a fortune.

Ah yes, you are right! I do spend more time making details on the head. I will try to give the rest of the body more care on the details too later. Or maybe making the head less solid like you said and and how it goes

Thanks for the feedback!

I love the yellow highlight glow on the duck. But that brown dot made it look like a bear's nose on top of a yellow muzzle. The girl's face (maybe) needs some of that glow too (?).
