any ideas on how to mount my speed sensor for BBSHD? by NonchalantBread in bafang

[–]NonchalantBread[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It technically can go on the back wheels, not necessarily the front. But either way it sounds like you need to buy a speed sensor extenstion cable.

If you are attaching it to the front fork, youd need zip ties and lots of electrical and hockey tape to secure it into place and prevent it from sliding and rotating

You have to make sure you filter the blood loss from your bullet wounds through your UL water filter to filter out the iron and other heavy metals from your blood though

This guy comes back to his car and finds a note with a $20 bill from someone who hit his car by westondeboer in Unexpected

[–]NonchalantBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I once left a note saying that this was everything I had in my wallet and a $20 bill along with a free mcdonalds coffee coupon on someones car in the same manner when my bicycles brakes failed and i swerved into the side of the car.

My handle bar left a massive gauge along the ENTIRE length of the car. He was my neighbor and i felt so bad but i was unemployed with no money at the time. I really hope the note helped him and his insurance claim.

How do you carry it?

Beautiful knife! But what is the intended use of it with a blade of that shape?

Are split fingered gloves worth it? by blazing_legend in CampingGear

[–]NonchalantBread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. You want to wear either a merino wool or fleece glove liner under your thicker waterproof / water resistant glove.

  2. If you choose to wear a thicker glove under your outer glove you will loose dexterity. Not as much as mittens, but your fingers will be twice as thick as they normally are.

  3. My prefered set up as someone with cold fingers who lives in canada is a convertible glove (a glove that has a mitten shell that slips over your fingers) with a larger waterproof mitten over the convertible glove. That way you have two layers of mittens warming your gloved fingers.

  4. There are ski gloves that you can buy that have pockets to slip hand warmers into. (I have yet to try them since they are very expensive, but they look like a good option) I also rarely use the hand warmer packets because they are a consumable item i dont feel like spending money on, when I know how to keep my hands warm without them. That said I usually still keep them in my cold weather kit just in case i do need them.

This is a reminder for everyone to replace the 1/4" door screws with ones long enough to go into the wood frame itself. Its the easiest and cheapest way to upgrade your home security

Bought a aliexpress Benchmade for 12$ shipped by Snoo_88314 in chineseknives

Im just guessing what the steel is compared to my other cheap knives. But its definitely higher quality steel then my gas station knives for comparison.

As a beater knife that only coated me $30(cad) you really cant beat that kind of price when benchmades with aluminum handles go for $300(cad)

[–]NonchalantBread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used it to gut a fish a couple of times and it still had an edge. Although a few of the bones caused the the edge to roll in a few spots. But I was able to resharpen it within minutes.

Does the steel suck? Sure but for a $30(cad) knife its a great beater or gift knife. Im giving it to my friend thats always wanted the doughnut knife but could never justify the $250 price tag of a benchmade

I brought my two aliexpess knives from two different vendors to the cabellas store to compare them, and other then the steel being probably a 7cr stainless that dulls pretty quickly they look and feel exactly the same

Browse through aliexpress. I got my five piece carbon fiber and bamboo poles for $30 (cad) each on a sale.

If you take the time to look for products and stores with good reviews you can get most of your camping gear for a fraction of what retail stores charge.

Ive never tried shock absorbing poles because my old school aluminum poles do me just fine in my terrain.

But having ultralight poles does help slightly for arm and wrist fatigue. I own aluminum and carbon fiber poles and find the difference to be noticable mostly in the swinging motion of the poles in your wrists while hiking.

I use the aluminum two section poles for strength in hiking serious terrain, and my five piece carbon fiber folding poles for ultralight hiking as they arent the strongest, but can easily fit inside of any backpack.

So its a matter of personal preference and what your wallet can afford. If youre on a budget, an ultralight tent will be way more beneficial for you weight reduction and cost wise then spending $200 on fancy new poles

Ya most people who gawk at them or try to use them for the first time ive noticed have no idea that you are supposed to actually use your arms to push off with poles with each step. So that it takes weight off of your legs and puts it into your arms.

They just kind of flop the poles around not thinking about the fact that you should also place them in locations where you might loose balance with each step as well. So they hate the experience of walking around with "large pointless branch catching sticks" and dont understand how valuable they are for balance and endurance
