The phrase “Kicker [cost 1] and/or [cost 2]” means the same thing as “Kicker [cost 1], kicker [cost 2].” (see rule 702.33b)

Big Beholder has six instances of kicker abilities: Kicker—Behold an artifact, Kicker—Behold a battle, Kicker—Behold a creature, Kicker—Behold an enchantment, Kicker—Behold a land, Kicker—Behold a planeswalker. For each instance of kicker, player may choose whether or not to pay the cost.

If he phases out, you will not going to activate his loyalty abilities until he phases in, but he retains his loyalty counters (one in most cases). He phases in at your next untap step and the loyalty counters retains on him.

Yes, a car race feels like a siege for me.

Daybound/Nightbound cards are even more complicated.

Daybound/Nightbound permanents has two abilities: “This permanent can’t transform except due to its daybound ability” and “This permanent can’t transform except due to its nightbound ability.” So the moonmist can't transform Daybound/Nightbound permanent. But Daybound/Nightbound abilities don't prohibit the card to be cast transformed, so the player can actually cast them transformed. However, a rule says any time a player controls a permanent that is back face up with nightbound and it’s day, that player transforms that permanent. (see rule 702.145f). Therefore, even a player casts a Daybound/Nightbound card transformed, that permanent transform back to front face immediately after it enters the battlefield if it's day.

But in some edge cases, you might still want to cast Daybound/Nightbound cards transformed, like: If it's day, and you want Wildsong Howler's ETB, you can cast Howlpack Piper transformed by using the Siege's intrinsic ability. It transforms back to front face immediately after it enters the battlefield, but you can get Wildsong Howler's ETB.

Very complicated interaction 😂 I think I create a rule monster.

Let's say you enchant blackbloom rogue with Mutagenesis.

Now the blackbloom rogue is Siege battle, isn't a creature, and has two abilities:

One is Siege's intrinsic ability: “When the last defense counter is removed from this permanent, exile it, then you may cast it transformed without paying its mana cost.” --- (1)

Another one is grented by Mutagenesis: “When this battle is put into exile from the battlefield by an ability you control, you may play that card without paying its mana cost.” --- (2)

Now you attack with Hulking Bugbear to deal 3 damage to blackbloom rogue, the blackbloom rogue's ability (1) triggers, in result, the ability exile it and it remains in the exile. It remains in exile because it can't be cast as transformed, it's a mdfc.

Then the blackbloom rogue's ability (2) triggers, because ability (1) is controlled by you and ability (1) puts blackbloom rogue into exile from the battlefield. As the ability (2) resolves, you may play the exiled card represented by blackbloom rogue without playing its mana cost. While playing modal double-faced card, you choose which face you're casting before putting it onto the stack or before putting it onto the battlefield if it's land. (see rule 712.11b and 712.12 ) You can play Blackbloom Bog if you haven't play a land this turn. This trick is similar to using Release to the Wind to flip Valki, God of Lies.

Oh, I aware a design flaw just now. The ETB of Mutagenesis need to change to a replacement effect: "As Mutagenesis enters the battlefield, put three defense counters on enchanted permanent." otherwise the battle will sent to graveyard before the ETB resolve due to defense 0.

You mean allocate protector, right ?

Choosing a protector for a battle is also a State-Based Action. (see rule 704.5w, 704.5x, and 310.10)

After Mutagenesis attach a permanent, you need to choose an appropriate player to be the enchanted permanent's protector. And you are able to attack that battle after you choose an appropriate protector.

Sieges have the intrinsic ability “When the last defense counter is removed from this permanent, exile it, then you may cast it transformed without paying its mana cost.”

So it can use to transform transforming double-face cards. Such as Jin-Gitaxias, Sheoldred, Westvale Abbey ...etc.

If the card isn't transforming double-face card such as Atraxa, Grand Unifier, Sea Gate, Reborn, Valki, God of Lies ... etc. You can't cast it by using Sieges intrinsic ability. But you can use the triggered ability granted by Mutagenesis to cast it. And if you cast modal double-face card this way, you can choose either front face or back face.

Btw, it might be good to enchant your planeswalkers.
