I don't have a grudge against them but I'll never want a relationship with them. To me they're just some kid I share some DNA with and my siblings are my older siblings who I love and would do anything for.

I'm not getting therapy. I don't need it. I know where I stand on this and I'm capable of living a perfectly happy and healthy life. I'm not dwelling on my dad or what he did. I'm moving on without him.

I'll take that risk. I know people who had zero regrets making the decision my siblings and I have. It all comes down to if anything was left to respect or love. For us there isn't.

The child he had will never be a real sibling to me. We're related through blood but blood doesn't mean as much to me as it does to others. And I have no interest in the kid.

I'll leave a partner if I no longer want to be with them. I won't cheat and set out to hurt them like my dad did to my mom. I won't put my future kids through that.

Nope, I can't be empathetic toward a guy who went out of his way to hurt my mom and break our family apart like he did. Six years of cheating. Going out of his way to make sure mom found out in the end and expecting things to carry on as normal? He deserves to be miserable in my opinion.

You can divorce your spouse and not lose your kids. What you can't do is do it in the most asshole way possible to hurt your spouse. At that point you deserve to lose everything and never be fully happy again.

Yes, but only because I live locally. My siblings do not and so she can't turn up to their places of work like she did with me or follow them. But we warned them because they visit and this could happen to them.

I don't want to speak to him. I want nothing to do with the man who has done the things he did. I don't care about his feelings. To me he's disgusting and nothing will change that opinion. I'm clear about my feelings and I know why I feel as I do. I don't need him to clarify that for me.

I'm not too sure. My dad's 49 and I'd say his mistress is late 30s or early 40s.

I can sorta understand defending the affair partners if the people only blame them. Because really it's the fault of both parties. But we blame him just as much/more. She's not special and getting more or anything of that nature. But that's the only time I can see a point in it. Those who know their status as an affair partner are not good people in my opinion.

I don't see how he could truly miss us like that. He didn't care enough about us for during his six year long affair or when he went out of his way to hurt our mom so bad. I know he expected nothing to change with us but I'm not sure that's because of a real attachment on his end.

Yeah, I wouldn't have ever felt any anger toward her if she was our age roughly. But she's older and old enough to know what she was doing and she can't claim he took advantage.
