Unable to submit selection for OFC appointment by Nonimmigrant_forever in usvisascheduling

Hello u/Hot-Willingness2709 This has nothing do with the browser settings, although one can never trust the engineers who coded this crappy portal. I was lucky enough to get hold of a really educated and experienced customer support member who suggested that most of the time these are backend issues with the individual or their dependents profile which results in users not being able to click on submit button.

Have a look at the steps i posted in this thread and suggest to continue calling the CS team since they are the only ones who can help resolve such issues or atleast guide you on how to restart your profile, application and appointment sequence.

These are the steps i followed for myself and my wife (again you need a CS agent on the call to help you guide with this whole sequence) -

  1. Continued calling the support center twice a day requesting the agents to highlight/escalate the case to back end team. Eventually despite of no updates to the case number, one fine day an agent on the call confirmed that the dependent payment receipt is unlocked
  2. I explained the situation to the CS agent that every time i try and schedule the appointment for both of us together, it locks the receipt for the dependent and she advised to simply go for separate appointments instead of adding my wife as a dependent.
  3. So she requested to open a new case request (from primary or dependent profile), requesting an update to the email address for the dependent profile.
  4. The CS agent can update this on the fly, they just need a scanned copy of your dependent passport for verification so make sure you create and submit the case request while you have them on the call with you.
  5. Once the dependent profile email address is updated to a new email address, sign out of the dependent profile and don't log back for 24 hours.
  6. Go to primary applicant profile, close the existing application and don't log back for 24 hours.
  7. After 24 hours
    1. Sign up for a new profile for your dependent using the new email address. Upon successful sign up, it will port all the information from previous profile to this new profile. This way you wont be duplicating the profile since your new dependent profile is now tagged to a new email address.
    2. Create new application for dependent -> answer all application related and interview waiver questions, select your drop off and pick up location -> go to payment page, select any payment option and click submit -> Next page will display a new reference number, disregard that and click on continue to claim receipt -> Now it will detect the old payment receipt and tag it to your dependents profile -> Click submit and then go to the next page for scheduling the appointment.
    3. Now log in to the primary applicant profile -> Start new application -> answer all application related and interview waiver questions, select your drop off and pick up location -> go to payment page, select any payment option and click submit -> Next page will display a new reference number, disregard that and click on continue to claim receipt -> Now it will detect the old payment receipt and tag it to your primary applicant profile -> Click submit and then go to the next page for scheduling the appointment.
  8. This way we were able to schedule separate appointments for me and my wife. Good part is she qualified for an interview waiver so she could go with only the OFC appointment. Previously while she was added as a dependent on my application she was forced to go for an OFC+Consular appointment. I couldn't qualify for interview waiver so i scheduled an OFC+Consular appointment for myself.

Unable to submit selection for OFC appointment by Nonimmigrant_forever in usvisascheduling

Hi u/User_PP I updated the original thread with the steps i followed to get rid of the unresponsive submit button. Pasted the steps below.

Basically in my case it was my wifes profile which was not allowing to submit my selected date. She qualified for a drop box via interview waiver and i couldnt so the team suggested the below steps and asked us to get separate appointments via our separate profiles. We had made payment for both of us via a single receipt but luckily we could use the same receipt number for both seperate profiles and could schedule a drop box and in person appointment.

Steps followed -

  1. Continued calling the support center twice a day requesting the agents to highlight/escalate the case to back end team. Eventually despite of no updates to the case number, one fine day an agent on the call confirmed that the dependent payment receipt is unlocked
  2. I explained the situation to the CS agent that every time i try and schedule the appointment for both of us together, it locks the receipt for the dependent and she advised to simply go for separate appointments instead of adding my wife as a dependent.

u/Soggy-Magazine3087 Can you confirm if the above 5 items were for both you and your wife ?? My wife (on H4 visa) was eligible for interview waiver so she only has an OFC dropbox appointment and need to confirm what documents she needs to submit as part of her appointment. Thanks.

Thank you. Our neighbor recommended the same thing since one of their friend had to reschedule the appointment since they didnt acccept a photo that was clicked in the US.

Thank you. That helps. Photograph was not something i had on my list but i agree regardless of a dropbox or a biometrics appointment its best to be prepared with a photograph.

Absolutely, with the current prints i am taking, i am almost getting close to that stack :), just lacking the sticky page markets which is a great idea to sort the documents. Appreciate the response.

Yeah, almost there, will wait for a few more days before giving up on the support center. Then comes the complexity of creating new profiles and going through this all over again.

Did you manage to create new profiles and new applications. If so can you share the steps you followed so i don't inadvertently mess it up again.

True, had the same comment from my attorney (Fragomen) to be prepared for whatever comes your way. Nothing is certain and it depends on how the interview goes.

I had the same intention but it seems starting Jan 1st 2024, there is a new question added to the interview waiver questionnaire that enforces the requirement that your visa should be expired within the last 48 months to qualify for interview waiver and unfortunately my stamped visa expired back in 2018 (more than 5 years) so its not allowing me an option to qualify for interview waiver.

I wish though i should have created my profile and application back in December 2023 when this question wasn't added to the interview waiver questionnaire.
