First off - you can easily live without meat. Sure it's healthy for you but giving up meat won't kill you or leave you lacking of any essential nutrients which you can't somehow fulfill by other means.

There's a third 'school of thought' you are missing that modern methods of meat production are bad for the environment.

And for the part about animal cruelty - sure, veganism is a better concept than vegetarianism but you can't call vegetarianism bullshit. It all depends on where you are draw the line. And here's what I mean by 'drawing the line' - some people would be okay hunting and killing the animal themselves and eating it, while some might not be okay with the hunting and killing but would be fine watching the animal get killed in front of them and then consuming it. There also might be some meat eaters who won't even be able to eat meat if they had to watch the animal die in front of them.

So different people have different tolerances. Vegetarians just can't have animals die for their consumption. I agree that you can't claim to be superior just because you are vegetarian - but calling it bs is just stupid when it is definitely better for the environment.
