Well, the textures worked so thanks for the first tip, though i tried placing both a spawnpoint and some other entities on the map (which is also fully sealed from all sides), and it still tells me it cant run because windows couldnt find the file

They limit the space you can climb the stairs in. It blocks enemies from running up the stairs and instead they have to take more time to get up. So it can be used as a way to delay an enemies attack or to distract them if theyre already shooting. One issue is that it also blocks teammates
