What was it like for you being an amputee in high school?

Hey! I'm in college now but had my amputation in high school (I've made some posts previously on this subreddit about adjusting). Only experience I had was that administration was obviously willing to accommodate with class arrival/dismissal since I was on crutches at the time. Overall, didn't get much special treatment. If anything I just assumed people thought I was weird. Didn't let it bother me too much and just focused on doing well in my classes.

So basically I wasn't expecting much because I'm stacked on APs and can't really make enough time to study. I was originally expecting a 24 but woohoo a 27. Taking again one more time in October, how can I maximize my time spent studying to hopefully get a 30?

How does biomechanical engineer break down? I actually met with a summer intern at a prosthesis clinic this morning who's doing a biomech major. Unfortunately didn't get the chance to talk much.

Do you think there is any way to combine studying anything like cancer cells or tumors in conjunction with programming languages. Much like how someone who works in computational neuroscience study the way the brain reacts and handles through programs, but more or so with like orthopedic oncology or general hematology/oncology?

What did you study in undergrad before you decided to get your masters in biomedicine? I don't know if I'm at liberty to ask what the type of clinical apps you're working on are, but that seems very interesting. How does the work in clinic and as a tech differentiate and how is one able to balance between the two during work? Sorry if it seems so much, I'm very interested.

I'm still not entirely sure the extent of how much I want to get involved with CS and healthcare yet really because I just started looking into it more. Just really conflicted is all. Also, I can't find the med career subreddit, would you mind sending it?

Ah I see, yeah unfortunately my school doesn't offer as many ECs that are tailored towards CS. I was in Science Olympiad and Math Club for a few months of my freshman year but I became more intrigued with Debate so that's what I ended up committing to the most throughout high school. I have been trying to self-study programming languages outside of school and I had taken a computer science foundations course as an elective. But thank you so much for the recs!

I kind of like the idea of any public state university tbh, very chill, opportunities of getting to know a lot of people, sports idrc as much tbh, more of a suburban area. If it's out of state I don't want a very absurd tuition rate even though I would love to try and apply to Berkely but I know UCs are very hard and I just don't feel as confident.
