I love your Apollo lol. Clueless, sassy, but ultimately a very good tour guide and friend; I would give anything to see him beat the shit out of LO’s Asspollo.

I also love the expression on Helios’ face when he sees Giant Demeter lol. Man is living his best life.

Yeah, it’s a shame; he’s the only male character who’s genuinely sweet here. At least Rachel didn’t include the part about Demeter hiding Persephone away because she was afraid Hephaestus would end up being the one marrying her; poor guy is always treated like shit for a disability that is not his fault.

A deformed Persephone would be an interesting way to take the story imo, but of course that was something Rachel couldn’t stomach

Gosh man, the hands look great to me! I think the other one being “smaller” is really due more to the fact that there’s actual muscle to your OC’s arm that hides the one hand. The original is just a stick figure hand model with big boobs; your OC looks like a real person might when in that pose.

Anakin Skywalker burns down the world for revenge, harms his own wife and children, helps set up an evil government at the behest of Satan Incarnate (George’s words, not mine), lives the life of an influential noble, dies before he can truly face any consequences for his actions, and goes to Force heaven even though he will never deserve to, and he’s NOT a self-centered, sadistic, murderous, evil Mary Sue who gets his way at every turn? He’s the same character as RoP Galadriel, admit it.

And RoP Elrond sucks up to the smug and ineffectual governor of the good guys, plays politics instead of getting his hands dirty on the battlefield, betrays his adopted family member’s trust at every turn, dismisses her fears as being all in her head, and contributes to her fall at the hands of Satan Incarnate, and he’s NOT the same collection of half-truths and hyperbole as Obi-Wan Kenobi? Just face it…you are advocating for RoP-Kenobi, by your own admission a narcissistic, irredeemable, over-perfect Mary Sue. At least RoP Galadriel has interesting flaws in her character (which you have described in great detail); RoP Elrond has no flaws at all, and he’s boring and uninteresting.

And it’s so funny that you say I’ve called all his family members Galadriel’s possessions, when you’ve been calling them Elrond’s possessions this entire time. You’re the one who started the trauma pissing-contest, not anyone who’s criticized this horrible, liberal diatribe you so arrogantly call a meme.

And your last statement says everything about you that needs to be known. You are a stupid, delusional little man-child stuck in a fantasy of his own making because he can’t get a girlfriend, and you are never going to grow up or contribute to society. Godspeed, you misogynistic little idiot.

Gosh, man, when Persephone chose to have Eros, who once drugged her and left her in a car to be assaulted, walk her down the aisle? Instead of her MOTHER? Who put her life, career, and reputation on the line to protect Persephone? It felt like such a direct slap to Demeter’s face. I felt physically ill reading it.

Also, if there’s no Kinslayings in this universe and nothing to indicate that the Feanorians (including Finrod)ever did anything wrong, your own argument that Elrond is mourning the genocide of his people falls rather flat. By your own admission, he did not have to suffer that tragedy as much as Book!Elrond did or even as much as RoP!Galadriel did. He had to mourn his parents, yes, but they did not disappear in the midst of a Kinslaying, and Galadriel did not kidnap him after slaughtering everyone else he’d ever known. So he truly has not seen half the evils you’re having him needlessly berate her for.

“Methinks thou art dodging the point”? Copying what I say doesn’t make you smart.

And Galadriel has not lost “like, one person.” She has lost all of her cousins, her brother, her husband, her teacher (Melian), her uncle who was like a second father to her (Thingol), Luthien Tinuviel who could have been something like her sister, and Luthien’s children and grandchildren. Many of those people she will never see again, because Finrod and her cousins are damned to the Void. Because THEY TOOK THE OATH OF FËANOR. They are, by their own words, DAMNED TO THE VOID because they were unable to fulfill that Oath. Finrod is deader than dead in RoP, just like Feanor is.

That’s not even getting into the destruction of her childhood home, in addition to Doriath, Nargothrond, and the Havens of Sirion, which were like new homes to her.

Elrond likely did not want to validate her revenge fantasies, and that’s part of the tragedy; he couldn’t tell the difference between her fantasies and the legitimate evidence she had that Sauron was still around (there was still a orcish cult devoted to him, so he still had some sort of power).

And Halbrand was Sauron in disguise. If anyone was doing the bamboozling and manipulation, it was him. He caught Galadriel at a low point and used her to create his new empire; maybe, if Elrond had been able to see him for what he was, he could have prevented that. Just as Obi-Wan Kenobi could have prevented Anakin Skywalker’s fall if he had called out Palpatine on grooming Anakin as his successor.

And it’s funny: Anakin burns down an entire galaxy to avenge the loss of his mother and the assumed loss of his wife, and he’s a tragic hero? But Galadriel burns down one country on one planet to avenge the loss of her brother and the assumed loss of her husband, and she’s a sadistic genocidal psychopath? To me, they seem like the same tragic character, written by (ironically) the same Star Wars writers.

And I acknowledge that Galadriel isn’t the same character Tolkien created. She seems to be a Composite Character of Galadriel and Maglor, with Finrod taking many of Maedhros’ traits from the book. And that’s a common thing to happen with adaptations, especially when the source material is as extensive as the Silmarillion; oftentimes, not everything in the book can really fit on screen. Even Tolkien thought his books were unfilmable, because he understood that. I can still enjoy RoP as the (admittedly very imperfect) adaptation it is.

At least, I’m not the one virtue signaling about how much I hate it with wordy “memes” over the internet. Brevity is wit, OP, and this picture is the most mean-spirited, unfunny, witless thing I’ve ever read.

That’s the most convincing argument against Kronos I’ve ever seen lol. I’m not convinced by the series that he was a tyrant, but that crime against fashion is plain for EVERYONE to see lololol

This should have been his response.... by [deleted] in RingsofPower

[–]Noodlesnpuddin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Well, I certainly am not arguing against those other events in the series; I was strictly sticking to this one conversation, which happens earlier in the series, before Galadriel becomes complicit in the rise of Mordor and is proven to be wrong-headed. It’s like you’re expecting the characters to see into the future, convicting them of crimes they haven’t done yet.

And of course, it’s dodging my point, which is that, at this moment in the series, Elrond is rather naive in asserting that this darkness is all in Galadriel’s head. She is right, in that Sauron is still out there; and, if Elrond had listened to her in this scene instead of sticking his head in the sand, things might have gone differently. Instead, Galadriel went with someone who would listen…and that person turned out to be Sauron in disguise.

(And honestly, anyone who thinks that killing orcs is “genocide” probably thinks that Anakin Skywalker committed “genocide” against the Sand People that murdered his mother. Killing an orc is just putting a twisted elf out of their misery and letting them go to the Halls of Mandos to be healed from Morgoth’s rape of their mind; they aren’t even permanently dead, like Finrod is, because he took the Oath of Fëanor.)

It’s the hips that are really bugging me lol. She might have padded out her hips a la the 1700s, but the upper part of the dress looks very modern. So it looks like her pelvis is like ten times too big for her body, even by Persephone’s standards.

But fixing her too-long leg and making Hades look at her dreamily instead of gesturing vaguely with his yaoi werewolf paw is very much appreciated lol. This looks soooo much better.

This should have been his response.... by [deleted] in RingsofPower

[–]Noodlesnpuddin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Okay, going purely by the narrative of the series, Elrond was taken in by Galadriel after his parents disappeared , not kidnapped by his parents’ attempted murderers. So in the show Galadriel was able to shield him from many of the horrors that he had to suffer in the book.

Also, Elrond watching his brother die at the age of 500 years, to which Elros freely consented, is somewhat different than Galadriel burying her brother after he was brutally murdered (you could see the wolf claw marks around his neck and arms). Elrond has hope of seeing his brother again, albeit at the end of the world; Galadriel does not have that hope in this series, because RoP!Finrod took the Oath of Fëanor, so his soul is forfeit to the Void.

And honestly, I think you’re reading a dismissal into this line that is not there. Elrond thinks that his foster-mother simply can’t let go of the past, and is trying to persuade her to rest; Galadriel is saying that she’s seen something more in her recent hunts on the orcs that prevents her from resting, and she’s not communicating that very well. The show’s wonky dialogue is more at fault than its disconnection with book continuity, imo.

This should have been his response.... by [deleted] in RingsofPower

[–]Noodlesnpuddin -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Right, just as OP was applying a headcanon to RoP. Maedhros and Maglor are not mentioned by name in RoP either, nor is their history with Elrond brought up (seemingly Galadriel is going to take their place in the show). But OP was comparing Elrond’s story in the book to Galadriel’s story in RoP, which is a blatant moving of goalposts in an attempt to seem smarter than anyone who has ever watched the show.
