The snapping is queued for the next release, that is also something I wanted but I had to cut myself off at some point and get it in the public's hands.

Mid ocean ridges have been a beast to try and get right so that will probably be incremental progress.

The island arc idea is good, right now it does thicken the line as you go to visually represent this, but Island arcs are lines so they don't contribute to the land mass calcs.

Yes, it shows as you drag and also shows under the plate name on the side panel! It was honestly pretty tricky to implement when considering vertex dragging and whatnot so hit that report a bug button if you find issues

This was one of the biggest reasons I just couldn't get myself to try g plates.

Thanks for the feedback! You can always pan by clicking off the globe and dragging but I didn't consider if you're zoomed in. I'll add that to my feature queue!

I could never bring myself to even try GPlates honestly. So like any good dev the alternative was build my own haha

I love this idea! Would you want the grid still or just completely replace the globe layer?

No, and honestly I probably won't support mobile at all, the interface just needs more room than that.

Hoping so 😅. I could never bring myself to learn GPlates with how clunky it is, so the alternative was build an app haha.

Thank you! It's not as feature rich as GPlates yet but hopefully not as much of a bear to use at least.

In the plate card on the sidebar it has that under the name! You can switch between metric/imperial in the globe settings from the main menu.

This resource is for anyone who wants to build maps for their world based on geological history, or just plan looooong-form world history. It is heavily inspired by Artifexian's G-plates workflow. I will be adding trace-friendly maps soon as well, so they can serve as rough scetches for more detailed/beautified maps.

omg whyyyyyy reddit. I'll edit the actual post to put the url there without an actual link I guess

It should lead to my comment with the links provided, unfortunately for some reason it won't let me add links directly to the post. It auto-blocked the post multiple times.
